I had an ear infection just under 2 weeks before my op but mine was an outer canal infection so was able to have just antibiotic ear drops and it cleared up.i think there quite strict with what medication u take before ur op so if u do need some then take them ASAP and don’t tell them on the day of surgery! Hope u feel better Hun xxx

ah thanks hun. I wouldve just let it naturally heal itself but its so painful. I might just go to a walk in to get prescription quicker.
Thanks for your help 🙂 xx

Antibiotics shouldn’t affect surgery. I had my BA concelled because I took Asprin 5 days before – which could lead to bleeding too much during op and not clotting due to thin blood. Sometimes antibiotics are given pre surgery to prevent infection – so there shouldn’t be a problem. But check with your PC to be sure. Better antibiotics than raging ear infection and pus coming out your ears – defo no op then!!! Good luck hun x

I had an ear infection 2 weeks before and then a chest infection the week before, took anti biotics to clear both and still had op, just didn’t tell them! Anti biotics won’t prevent op but the infection would and it gives you a temp so they def wouldn’t do it x
