You are not meant to do any lifting for 6 weeks… my sister has 2 young kinds and my mum pretty much looked after them for 3 weeks. I’m sure you will be okay after 2 weeks but I would definitely take it easy with the lifting if you can. xx

@tonix I had the exact same worry. I have an 8 month baby and 2.5 year old little boy. My op was 26th July so I’m post op nearly 3 weeks. It has been hard for me as first week the pain was awful for me. I had unders. I also felt so guilty as the day I got back from hospital my little baby got a tummy bug and was really poorly for the whole week. She also started crawling haha. Very hard work for my hubby! However I am feeling great now. No pain and the only thing I can’t do is lift and change her nappy as she’s too much of a struggle for me and push the pram.. I’m trying to help as much as I can. I have family booked for 4 weeks to help and then I have no one. My advice would be is keep on top of your meds. Rest as much as you can!! You should be feeling ok after 2 weeks but if you HAVE to lift LIMIT it. Try and feed your lo on the floor etc so you’re not lifting in highchair etc. Good luck. You will be fine! !!! Xx

My baby will be 7 months when it’s time for me to have my op and its the only thing putting me off and making me consider nothing through with it. 🙁 I have family willing to help so I’m trying to stay positive 🙂 my daughter likes being walked around a lot as is quite clingy lol xx

hi. i had my op last july. my youngest daughter was 10 months old at the time and my eldest was 4 1/2 years. My recovery was very straight forward. i had my mother in law around every day for a week as i expected the worse. I couldnt lift etc and day 1 and 2 i was quite tired but by day 3 i was bored so we went on a shopping trip and by day 4 i didnt need any pain relief. I was able to drive after my 6 day check up and was back working on day 8. Maybe i was just lucky 🙂 the only pain i had really felt like when your milk comes in when breast feeding or when you have gone too long without feeding lol
You definately need someone around to do lifting ie into highchair, bath, bed etc but it really didnt have as much impact on my little one as i thought it would.
    Hope this helps

Thank you for all your replies it’s reassuring to know there are Mummy’s out there that have had a ba. I’ve requested you all as friends as I’d like to follow your stories. I suppose we are all different and our recovery times will differ fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for us all. I can’t wait to get them done and this is the only issue that’s causing me concern but thank you for the reassurance x
