I’m over 4 weeks post op now and I’ve been feeling great for ages! I’ve been managing most of my housework since the op, so today I thought I’d paint my porch – what a mistake! All I can say girls is listen to all of the advice we’re given about taking it easy & resting. I’ve more pains now than I had in the first week after my op 🙁 x

I’ve just said the same thing to one of the girls on here who asked About ba with young kids. I’m a mind over Matter girl, if I’m sick I will push myself to get up and do things. I don’t like people running around after me so I got up day2 and started doing things, making breakfast hoovering and BAM day4 developed a haematoma! I’ve now learned my lesson big time. I’m 3wpo now and although I managing to make the beds slowly and do the polishing and other housework stuff, I rest as much as I can. Sorry if this is too much information but I also had sex first time since op a couple of days ago and that made my feel so crap the next day…you don’t realise how much you use your muscles and upper body! lol! Rest rest rest!!! Hope you feel better soon honey!!! xx

Totally and it’s killing me! I think I’m fine and I will do little things like sort the washing out and the towels are so heavy … can’t half feel some twinges! I was in loads of pain yesterday from overdoing or the day before just pottering around the house. I hate feeling restricted but we’ve come this far, it’s only a matter of weeks to go!
I hate not being able to exercise as well 🙁 I’ve seen two nurses, the first said I could maybe do lower body after 3 weeks and the second said nothing whatsoever until after week 6! Xx

    lol Gemma Lou,
That was the one thing I wasn’t giving up for more than the first week 😉
I had the paint brush out again yesterday and had to chase and rugby tackle my dog this morning, I just can’t do sitting & resting!
Totally missing the gym too Nick, l love weight training and can’t wait to get back to it!

I am the same..I have been doing bits and bobs but I’ve hurt my self reaching to close a velux window now where my incision was made is very sore, I’ve had to cushion it with cotton pads… how do you know when you have developed a haemtoma? It’s very sore!! I have carried wet washing and felt my chest pulling too xx

It’s gonna feel a bit sore and achy for a little while when getting back to normal routine as you haven’t used your muscle while relaxing. Your basically retraining your muscles so little thing would act like a workout at the gym and ache then next day but it does get better it is totally normal to hurt. First time I had unders the day I went back to work I was totally able to do everything I lifted a gearbox out of a car but the next day I was dead in bed lol. Doing harder things day by day little bit at a time your chest gets stronger and stronger and stronger.

But don’t hold back and do nothing and then expect one day for it to be totally fine it and muscles don’t work like that. Good luck girlies! It is totally worth it in the end xxxx

hi joanna! I had a very sore right breast and it was lumpy by the incision which felt bruised to touch. I read somewhere about water pockets and that they usually clear up on its own. It got more sore over a day or so and couldn’t bear it any longer so got it looked at. I had to have it drained which is not a great experience but better than having to go back under and have it taken out and replaced. I need to get back to the gym, this weight is piling on…easter eggs isn’t making it any better either!!! lol xx

Hey you said you hit a haematoma that’s what’s happened to me, my boob literally swelled to twice the size, it’s slowly going down – the surgeon said he’s happy to wait two weeks to see progress before he might want to drain it in theatre ? did yours go by itself and how long did it take? X
