Anyone had a BA and owns a horse???

Hi girls…

I have my first consultation on Sat and just wanted to know if anyone has had a BA and has a horse that they do everything for??? Im planning on taking a week off but after that will need to start all the duties again and just wanted to know if anyone has been in same position as me and what they felt like/what you could do???

Hey! I have horses. Ive got a little cheeky welsh pony and a 17hh Oldenburg so I new it would be tricky with them both. Luckily my mum does the majority of the mucking out etc but 8 days post op they went away for two nights leaving me on my own, I was fine mucking out just took my time etc. got my other half to fill the water buckets and empty the wheelbarrow (do the heavy stuff). I stood on a mounting block to put my horses rug on, there was no way I could throw it over her. I felt pretty normal by day 8 but just be careful if the nudge you in the area. I didn’t ride for 6 weeks as advised but I suppose its lucky my horse is out of work and im only just bringing her back with walking for the moment. xxx

I have asked someone to look after my horse for 2 weeks, but hoping I will be ok as cannot afford to have anyone look after him for longer!

I have two but luckily I have them at home so they can have a nice two week holiday in the field 🙂 they prefer living out to in anyways so it’s easy enough for me! I’ve read somewhere that said 3 months before riding again though! Xxx

@jessc92 I also have a little Welsh sec A he’s only 10hh but could easily still pull me over and tank away with me 🙂

I have two and I’m 6 days post op and haven’t done anything.. My mum is mucking out and I’m paying someone to ride then. Was told by surgeon 4 weeks no riding and nurse 8 weeks but need to be back riding ASAP so will prob get back on in 3-4 weeks… Will probably start mucking out around that time too if mum let’s me haha xxx
