The only issue is getting home cannot drive will to be able
To get home need to carry as little weight with you as possible. Heck take cheap
Slippers n dressing gown just dump them at the hospital.

So you only have the clothes you came in.

    How far from
    Home
To hospital and how would you get home are the key questions you need to ask yourself. Close enough for a taxi?

My mum came but I would have been fine on my own, I stayed over night, I had my op at about 12 was back in my room before 2 and she left just gone 3. To be honest I enjoyed relaxing in my room watching tele and reading mags. My other half picked me up in the morning. As long as someone’s there to get you the next day you will be fine 🙂 xx

I went on my own 2nd time and tbh it was nerve wracking at 1st but once I’d been down and come back up it was much better alone as your so tired you just want to rest and sleep so when people is there with you its abit boring for them, I loved it on my own slept ages and then watched lots of tv 🙂 so peaceful haha xx

I live near bristol and will be traveling to london, so quite far. I was thinking of getting a coach and then the tube there, as like you said i wont be able to drive home. Would i be ok to do the same to get home. Its only my mum will need to lookafter my two children so wont be able to come with me.
Im so excited about finally having this done, this is the only thing now thats causing me problems

Hiya i was on my own my hubby just dropped me off at the hospital and then he had to go to work but to be honest i was happy to go it alone. It was a bit boring the waiting around but surprisingly the time went fast considering. The nurses keep coming and going for little chit chats but as long as your happy and not too nervous you should be great hun xxx

I went on my own and I was absolutely fine. I was wide awake when I came back and was sat up texting and phoning friends and family to let them know it went well. had my meal later watching tv. It didn’t bother me in the slightest x

Thanks for the replys. I think for the actual op i will be fine on my own, as you have said sounds like it would be better. But its the traveling home im unsure of. Would i be ok to get the tube to central london and then a coach home? Or would that be too much? Also would it better to stay in overnight? Or go home the same day?

I know it’s expensive but can you get a train home? I would assume it’s a lot quicker and they’re in advance you book the ticket the cheaper. It’s more you will be uncomfortable not agony but uncomfy … So km a train can stand up and wiggle around a bit more if you get achy.
I really would ensure you travel as light as possible. I had unders and the day after couldn’t really move my arms above the elbows was fine moving below elbow but struggled over… So carrying bags etc… Will be a bitch so travel light and get from hospital to home ASAP are my two bits of advice of it costs more so be it… It’s worth it.

You aren’t allowed to get public transport home it’s in their terms. I was panicking about getting home (I got train there and a friend picked me up) I thought of a cab but you have to have someone with u for 24hours after the anesthetic x talk to your pc mine was really helpfull

Your better off staying in that night or gettin a hotel close by, they advise you that if your traveling over an hour away to stay in. I was 40 mins so 1st was daycase was ok to go home but 2nd was overnight was much better xxx
