Hi just wondered if any of you lovely ladies underwent their BA with local anaesthetic instead of general. I am considering it!

I was told mya only perform BA under general anaesthetic, I wanted to opt for local too but they told me it isn’t used. X

I did general, personally there is no way I would want to go through that under a local

I spoke to a telephone advisor today who said a few of the MYA surgeons would consider local

I had local and sedation. It was fine, I fell asleep and woke up at the end. Not scary at all! Any questions please ask.

NO I didn’t. That was the main reason I had local so I could have a day case. Im one of those people who do better at home (or in a hotel in this case) when I gave birth I was going stir crazy overnight and just wanted to be home. I went in at 12.30, had op at 2 and left about 6.15. I probably would have been out earlier but I kept falling asleep, I was so tired. And hungry too!

I had my vaser under local with sedation with mr kazazzi and it was fab. I much preferred it to when I had a general for my BA. You just slowly feel more and more relaxed and fall asleep. You’re also less groggy when you wake up and it’s such a bonus you can go home the same day x
