Don’t worry hun mine is the same, if it’s not majorly alot of blood your fine, I was really badly throwing up for 2 days and I thought I’d ripped mine as I had blood on mine but the nurse said they are ok. You’ll be fine just keep checking them morning and night xx

I hope so! This is the first time I’ve felt really upset to be honest was doing ok until I noticed the blood now a I can think about is that I have overdone it and ripped them. How are you doing now Emily? Xx

I tried to ring the nurse but there isn’t one there on a weekend so they are asking one from a different clinic to ring me back but it won’t be until much later apparently. Trying not to get upset but I can’t help it xx

omg thats disgustting! which clinic r u at? dont get upset im sure its just a bit of fluid, that is common, i had fluid and one of mine was leaking after nerly 2 weeks post op, he said if he left it i would have to go back evry few days to get dressings changed and eventually it will heal itself, but as i was already at the hopital he said we may aswel just get it over and done with so he took me down theatre n washed the pocket out and restitched, do not panic this sounds alot lot worse than what it is, and i was in no pain at all i was asleep, no pain after it, i havent even taken a any painkillers, had the surgery tuesday, im sure ur case wont be this u probs just need dressings changing to keep it clean xx

Belle, don’t panic honey, you will get yourself in a mess. A bit of blood can be normal, worst thing you can do is get in a state. I’ve seen lots of girls worry about some blood, but their stitiches have been fine. Just wait for the call and try to relax. How many days po are you, and what size did you have? x x x

I got really upset about it too, but you’ll be fine, the nurse has non stop been on the phone to me cause I was soo badly sick,
And I keep saying about this blood, she really assured me it will be ok, I sent a pic of my blood patches to my pc I was that worried lol.
I’m feeling better today thankyou hun, I’m not throwing up today, but I start my tablets again today so I’m nervous ill be sick again. Hope your doing ok, try not to panic an just rest. Xxx

sorry i think i might have panicked u a little there!
please dont worry, as u may not be same as mine, i just think its bad that they have not acted quicker, manchester clinic told me to come in within the hour,
can i ask do you know what colour the ‘blood’ is, silly question but it it like watery pinky blood or red blood? xx

    Menu

Oh my god I hope it doesn’t come to that! I don’t want to have to go into theatre again already that’s my worst nightmare! I’m 3 days post op and had 265 overs so nothing big, it’s only on my right hand side. I was just feeling really positive about everything and wasn’t in any pain or anything but now I’ve noticed this I just feel really upset. I’m on my own as well so havent got anykne to calm me down ha. i will just wait until I manage to speak to a nurse thanks girls x

i rang on the monday and was in theatre tuesday, mr munir seen me ion the monday n squoze my boob and it was leaking fluid, thats y i asked what colour yours is, is it a bright red? coz mine was fluid it was like a watery pinky fluid. do not worry it wont be anything serious, mine sounded bad but honestly he only done it as a precaution, and said it would more than likely of gone on its own, it just saved me keep going back n forth to clinic every few days xxx

Don’t worry Belle, my friend had her op the same day as me (overs too) and she had the same as you, it was leaking fluid/blood and it stopped on it’s own, but she was sh*****g herself! It wasn’t like dark red blood, it was watery and more pink. Go on live chat maybe – see if they can help. You are worried and need some reassurance honey x x x

if ur not in any pain i wouldnt worry as a bit of fluid is normal, and if your only 3 days po a bit of bleeding is normal, my fluid leaked after i took the second set of steri strips off after nearly 2 weeks, so yeh please dont panic, it wont be infection or anything like that as your not in pain, and thats the main thing, sorry if iv frightened you!! xxx

    Menu

Thanks love. Its dark red so I think it’s definitely blood as opposed to fluid but it doesn’t look fresh so think it may have happened this morning. The nurse from the Leeds clinic has just called (my clinic is newcastle) she was really lovely and said its definitely normal to have a bit of bleeding but if my dressing were really wet I would have to go in and get it sorted. I feel a bit better now but she said to keep a close eye on it and ring straight away if it gets worse. Thanks a lot girls really appreciate it x x

And Vicky don’t worry you didn’t frighten me but the blood did! First time I’ve got emotional so far so I’m sure there will be more to come! X

    Menu

aw honestly i was an emotional wreck after the first few days, and i didnt even had fluid at that point, think its just when u start feeling crappy because u cant move around like normal, and yeh like ur nurse said if its just blood on the dressing that shud be fine, mine was more of a constant weeping, so yea try relax urself im sure everything is fine and normal with u xxx
