    Hi girls..

So I’m exaggerating about the not seeing my toes part but honestly the bloating I’m experiencing is bad! I’m POD4 now from having 400hp overs with Traynor. I’m coping with the pain pretty well, I’ve only been taking paracetamol and my antibiotics, the numb bum and sore neck and shoulders from having to sleep and sit up all the times annoying but honestly the bloating I’m finding the worst!

I really look like I’ve ate a small child or I’m about 7 months pregnant, being this bloated is actually irritating my incisions oddly as when I’m sat and my little budda belly is out it’s flipping the bottom of my Macom up which is then rubbing on my incisions.

I thought as I haven’t took any of the pain relief I wouldn’t get it as bad. Is this bloating just off the medication?

Can any of you lovely post op girls tell me when the bloating goes?

    Xxx

    hey

I’m at the same stage of recovery as you. i have IBS anyway and suffer quite bad with bloating on a normal day, however the painkillers they prescribed me (co-codamol) is known for causing bloating and constipation. i took them for 24 hours post op but since then I’ve just been on paracetamol.

since then I’ve been getting bloated still, but using hot water bottles to relieve it. i’ve also been farting like a trooper which is much to my partners amusement. can’t wait for the pain free days due to us soon.

try drinking peppermint tea, it tastes foul at first, but has always helped my bloating with IBS.

    hope this helps!

The bloating was agony for me too.. I couldn’t trump and it kept coming upwards which hurt my chest bur always felt like i needed to throw up and if i did it was gunna ve really powerful. I sipped on HOT peppermint tea as when its cool its not as effected and i resorted to Dulcoease and within 12 hours it had all dispersed. Amazing that stuff!!!!! You can get ir over the counter.

I’m 5dpo as well, I found prunes helped me soo much and the belly has gone down massively.
I also farted a lot and got indigestion from all the pills but once you stop taking them, for me was the coedine that was causing it. Feeling much better now xx

Hey. I don’t usually suffer with bloating so this was a new experience for me. I’m 12 days PO and today is the first day when I’ve felt more normal when. I’m not completely back to normal but I’m almost there. Xx

My hot water bottle is my saviour right now… I stopped taking co-codamil 24 hours after surgery but I’m still bloated, but I think that’s more my medical issue than the tablets as to why I’m still suffering.

My Macom was too big (went up a back size as everyone recommended for swelling) and the band was a bit loose. Just but my small one on and jeeze is it tight!! Can’t wait to just wear a normal sports bra!

Ah with you on this, worst part of my recovery by far. I had senekot and went for short walks which helped, but after taking them for a few days x
