Blood test at pre op?

Did any girls have a blood test or a needle of some sort at their pre op? Some seem to have had one and I didn’t? Should I have had one? Xx

I didn’t have one Hun. I asked why not and they said as I take no medication and am fit and healthy there was no need for one. Xx

I had bloods taken so that they could check my blood type incase I needed blood and other things too. I thought we all had them as its standard procedure when having a operation.
You also have swabs taken for mrsa x

Strange that’s what I thought everyone has to have one, I don’t take medication either but I have a few allergies and stuff so I’m confused , I had the swab things and blood pressure taken just no needles!xx

I don’t think everyone has to have a blood test. I got my blood sample taken as I bruise very easily so they wanted to check for blood clotting to make sure that everything is s ok. If you are fit and healthy and don’t have any underlying problems they don’t need the blood sample.

Is your BMI within the normal range? I saw a girl had to have a blood test as her BMI was low. Xx

I had to have a blood test but not allergic to anything etc. Potentially think it may be also if you haven’t ever had an op before or anything & I bruise really easily. Not sure how they decide if they do or not. About to go into my post op so may ask x

Glad it’s not just me then haha, would have made me happier though as I also bruise easily and have never had an op, Ah well they must know what they’re doing and my ops tomorrow! Bit late lol, thanks girls xx

i didnt have any blood taken just had my blood pressure taken xx

I’m tomorrow too hun, are you nervous? I’m petrified of needles so was glad they didn’t take blood lol xx

Haha i dont really mind the needle it just makes me cringe when they take all that blood out, I’m like hey I need that:L and yeah really nervous who’s doing yours? I’m getting 400cc hp unders with traynor xx

Ahh just reading that makes me feel all funny, ergh haha! I’m not with MYA as live quite far away but I’m having 415cc, still undecided as to go under or over! Leaning towards under xx

Sounds like a good size, I tried to push to 425 but my pc told me it might give me complications with healing Ibecause o my small frame i was gutted haha, 4oo will take me to a D though hopefully, let me know how you get on, good luck! Xx

Yeah 415 is the max they’ll do on me as I’ve had a baby so skin is already stretched to allow that little bit bigger. I should hopefully be a DD/small E. Yeah you too hun, when’s your admission time? Xx
