Hi girls, just wondering if everyone had blood tests as when I went to see the nurse she didn’t take any and I don’t know when I will find time between now and my op to have it taken and sent to analysis… Worried I will turn up and they will say they can’t do it because of no blood tests. Anyone else had similar? xxx

Hi @Pepperpot I had the swabs taken and pictures, bmi etc but no bloods. She didn’t mention it and i forgot to ask with the excitement of it all. I will give them a call on Monday, although my pc seems to be an elusive sort. Sent three texts recently and nothing 🙁 xx

I had mouth swabs but blood tests are only necessary for some patients, if your medical history doesn’t call for a blood test they wont do one. There’s no point them wasting money on tests unnecessarily. MRSA swabs, pictures, weighing etc is standard for everyone x

I had my pre op done today and two types of swabs were taken, pictures, bmi and bloods… thou have to go back tomorrow as the nurse forgot to get me to sign one of the forms, but thats no biggie as Fenchurch Street is only 15 mins away from work. If you in any doubt about should have been taken just text/phone your PC. 😀 x
