after a week I wont have a lot of help and will need to lift my baby from place to place like out of cot in to highchair e.t.c will this do any damage? its something I will have to do this is the only thing that is making me really panic the most. Has anyone else had to do this so soon and been ok xxxx

I’m a week op today and I had unders. I managed to have a quick drive today and lift shopping bags so I would think you should be okay x

I had 375cc unders and after just over a week I was ok to lift shopping bags etc/ Also I’ve been using the kettle since week one which is pretty heavy and I’ve been fine 🙂 xx

@lynzzi25 you’ll have to let us know how you get on post-op, how old is your baby? I’m worried about the same thing, I have a 3year old and my baby is 9 months, I’m wondering whether to wait for a BA until she’s at least walking! But I’m too impatient!

Hi Hun, I had my op on Tuesday just gone and I was so worried about this and I have a big one year son who isn’t walking yet and needs lifting everywhere. I couldn’t do anything Wednesday/ Thursday but had my partner at home for those days, on the Friday I had my niece over to help with the lifting and then my partner again Saturday and Sunday. I am on my own with my boy today and I’m picking him up in and out of the cot, high chair and feel fine! Wouldn’t try it any earlier but I did yesterday but I have recovered quick and been doing housework, out for walks, driving and shopping since Friday. I had 550cc partials. Hope it helps cus I was also so worried. Xx

thanks girls, he is 9months old. so after a week I should be fine picking him up now and then? I thought maybe I should of waited as well but I have wanted it done sine I was 18 so a few years ago I didn’t really think about recovery when I booked it tbh I thought I would just be straight forward with a bit of pain but looking on this forum that’s not the case with some girls hopefully if I don’t over do it I should be fine.
sorry about all the random capital letters in my sentence’s I don’t know why its throwing them in xxx

I think it just depends on your recovery. I had unders and I was still struggling to drive after 2 weeks and my car is light steering. I couldn’t pick up anything heavy either for 2/3 weeks.

i was wondering the same as i have a 9 month old and a 4 year old. how long after the op can u drive ?
also why do some women have unders and others have overs?
does it depend on the size?

Your baby’s 9months now so I’m presuming still quiet light to hold compared to say a 2 year old! I would say it should be easier for you now than if you did wait any longer as they aren’t as heavy to pick up, my friend has a 2 n half year old and she’s walking and independent but if she does not want to walk she will paddy till she’s picked up so I would say it would be better now rather than waiting till they older xx
