    Hey girls!

I’m booking my op soon as I’ve got my deposit but want to see my surgeon again, but basically can’t decide if I want to stay over night as I’m traveling from Wales or day case and book a hotel?? I’m okay staying on my own but I hate being lonely 🙁

Any personal experience or advice please would be amazing thank you!! Xx

    Hi Sophie,
I had my op two weeks ago, I was a day case. I would say having it done in a day was perfect for me as I could stay as long as I wanted. I had my surgery early and was there from 9 am-6.30pm
My friend was having an over night stay and was left till the end of the day as they do all day cases first and the surgeon was running late so she didn’t have her op till 9pm. This is probably a one off but she paid more to stay over night and from her having her op to her going home the next day she probably was only there a few more hours than me.
But if you’ve got to stay in a hotel regardless I would opt for staying in the hospital. The staff are absolutely wonderful and you may end up sharing a room. I shared a room with such a lovely girl and still text each other since. It’s been so lovely to share this journey with someone else going through the same thing. Good luck and enjoy. Xxxx

I stayed overnight and I recommend to do it. You don’t know how you gonna feel and the nurses will keep checking and helping you there. You also getting painkillers whenever you need. I am sure you won’t cause any damage if you leave after your surgery, but I felt more.safe no to.

I had my op yesterday at about 3pm at th Fitzroy and I stayed over night. I’ll be honest I was in quite a bit of pain and could hardly move and felt very dizzy. My blood pressure was very low too so been on a drip. The staff here are so kind and caring so I would say pay the extra and stay overnight it you can. I’ve got to leave at 10am this morning and still not sure how I’m going to do that!

    Hope that helps x

I didn’t have a choice I was told I had to stay over night as I lived a few hours from the hospital but even if I was allowed to go home after I wouldn’t of wanted too. I was so out of it and in a lot of pain. The nurses check on you all the time and make sure you have enough pain relief. I would recommend an over night stay. X x
