I had my op on Friday and last night my right boob was so swollen and so tight I was crying every time I moved as I could feel stinging liquid running through my breast. I called te out of hours and they told me to take my strapping off my right boob and put ice on. As this didn’t work they told me to go to A&E to see if their was a collection. They gave me stronger pain killers and sent me home. It’s day 3 now and the pain is still excruciating in my right breast where as my left breast is fine… Has anyone else experience this? Really need some reassurance feel like something’s gone wrong 🙁 I had 600cc HP overs with Dr singh on Friday

Ahh no hope you start feeling better soon. I’ had my op done last Wednesday and felt fine until yesterday the pain was unbareable so I just tried to rest all day and woke this morning feeling better. Xx

Hi Jamie! Did you feel like you had shoting pains or that your implant was moving? My left breast has no pain I wish they both felt like that 🙁 what did you have done? Xx

It was more of a constant dull ache in my right breast, I basically got some cool strips (for head aches) placed them on my right breast from the chemist and went to bed and read all day. It was very red and swollen. Just try to totally chill out. Xx

Hi Fiona mya have been calling me here and there to see how I am doing all I can do is lie in bed all day and can’t even take myself to the loo my boyfriend has to lift me out of bed and even then I’m crying with the pain in my right breast. I am day 3 post op and my right breast feels like the muscle is ripping. From my chest, what day are you post op? What sort of pain did you experience and when did it subside? I’m quite upset 🙁 x

Bless you, I’m day 17 now. The pain killers they give you when u are under disappear completely by day 3 so it seems to be a bit of a wall for everyone. At sure u keep up with your painkillers even during the night. Try and keep a little bit mobile as it will help the healing process believe it or not. Ice packs work well as well. 5 mins on 10 mins off that kind of thing, I don’t consider my self a wimp 3 cesarean sections but I don’t mind admitting I cried!
By day 6 I was a lot better but still got exhausted easily xx

Hey Fiona and Jamie, I am currently lying down as that’s the only position that I feel no pain! As I don’t have strapping on my right breast I have got my sports bra on. I have called mya and they said I am experiencing nerve pain and that it is normal up until about day 7 🙁 I tried moving about but sitting of standing makes my boob swell more. Ice packs make my muscle tense which seems to make it worse I am keeping topped up on the pain killers but I feel j need more but can’t over dose lol I need to go to my appointment on Friday but just the thought of travelling there In this pain is daunting. The nurses said they are only concerned if my boob goes blue or purple or doubles in size which it hasn’t so I just got to persevere…xx

Aww, bless you hun. Hope you feel better soon. Am 14 days post-op and I don’t consider myself a wimp, but I was in the worst pain at day 3. I had the most horrible backache, and I too felt like my implant was moving under my muscle, and that I was popping stitches every time I tried to move. The damn co-codamol they gave me at Mya was doing nothing but bloating/constipating me up so I went to my GP who gave me Naproxen, (painkiller that also relieves swelling). It worked so well that the pain became almost non-existent after day 7. Ask your GP for stronger analgesics/anti-inflammatories like naproxen or diclofenac. They work very well. Just make sure you eat something before taking them. Chin up hun. The pain will start to dissipate after about a week or so. xxx

That’s great advise sharks I think I may be experiencing the same thing you was at 3 days! It’s so awful as its only in one breast. The hospital gave me co co damsel which is apparently stroger than co dydramol so what I will do is book an emergency docs app for tommorrow to get naxproxen and diclofenec, why wouldn’t mya give this if they are performing procedures where swelling is inevitable?? Seems Ludacris! I’ll be 7 days on Friday so hopefully a lot better 🙂 I need to go back to work Monday how long after did you go back to work? Xx

Have you been taking Ibuprofen as well? It might take any swelling down and take the pressure off a bit xx

Am surprised too as to why Mya don’t give any medication for swelling. It is ridiculous. The co-codamol/co-dydramol wear off quickly and both contain codeine which cause constipation when taken over a long period of time. I work in a pharmacy and that’s why I know about this medication. You can’t take both Naproxen and diclofenac at the same time as they are both the same class of drug(would be overdosing). Ask your GP for Naproxen 500mg (I found it works better than diclofenac). Take it up to three times a day after food. It works a treat for the pain and significantly relieves swelling.

I thought I’d be able to go back to work after 7 days but my body was not ready. Yes, the pain was starting to go away but my body was not completely back to normal yet. I was still a bit slow at doing normal day-to-day things and it was still a little bit challenging to get dressed. I had to ask my GP for a sick note to allow me another week of recovery. So in total, I had two weeks of recovery (that’s what I feel our bodies need after going through such trauma). I was back to normal by about day 10/11. I returned to work today infact at day 14 post-op. See how you get on after taking the naproxen. There’s a possibility you could manage to get back by Monday, it all depends on how much the pain will have subsided by then. Good luck hun. xxx

I left Mya with paracetamol and ibuprofen! Awful few days but it’s all becoming a distant memory now . X

I left with ibuprofen and paracetamol and was fine . If you have no strapping on one side this could cause more pain as the implant isn’t supported so will be putting pressure on your incision. when are you due to get your strapping off?
