My op is supposed to be on Tuesday. I have everything I need for recovery bought and ready, time off work and childcare organised, and on Friday, 4 days before my op I get a call that they need a letter from my GP or my surgeon will cancel the surgery.

I asked in the beginning of August, nearly 2 months before my surgery date if I needed to get a letter and they said not to worry, “everything looks complete for now”, so I didn’t bother. Now they expect me to scramble trying to get a letter in 2 working days and completely ignore my correspondence, I mean I get it’s the weekend but this is a bit urgent.

I just know they’re going to cancel on me tomorrow, literally the day before and I’m absolutely devastated and angry. I’ve put so much money and time into this for absolutely nothing.

Mine too was cancelled the day before so I feel your pain it is frustrated just get onto your GP ASAP tomorrow morning and see if they can email Mya the letter as that’ll be quicker or arrange to collect the letter in the afternoon and send a pic of the letter to Mya this is what I did and it was fine x

Mine was cancelled also 1 week prior due to the reason I needed to get a ultrasound done on my boobs. It was all left to the last minute. I feel your pain and it’s so frustrating that I don’t understand how disorganized it is.

Did either of you get a refund? I’m worried I’m going to have to struggle with them now to get any money back.
