I’m in with Dr Traynor in 2weeks. What’s he like? How did you find the surgery? Were you scared? Got my consultation with him next week. x

    Hi Su,

Firstly do not worry or be nervous at all. Trust me I’m now almost 5 weeks post op and things are great.
Mr Traynor is really nice, he doesn’t talk a lot and he’s very to the point. He will tell you exactly what is achievable and what isn’t he doesn’t mess around. But he’s very nice and Irish. Lol

I didn’t feel nervous on the day very much at all because the hospital was really relaxing and the staff really nice. I only felt nervous when I was on the bed getting the drugs put in my vein waiting to go into theatre. But that was only for about 10 seconds because the next thing I knew the nurse was waking me up from the best sleep of my life which I wasn’t happy about at the time ha ha. I wanted to be a sleep longer. When you first wake up you act drunk… My husband videoed me its soo funny.

Anyway I was absolutely fine so much so that 5 hours after my op we drove straight from the hospital to NANDOS for tea and then went back to hotel. The next day we drove to Blackpool and went to madam Tussaud’s. it’s sooooo easy honestly you will be fine!!!

Hi Anne, thanks for your reply, I hope I sail through it like others seem to have done. It all just seems to be happening so fast. It was only Monday this week that I enquired, and now I’ve got a date for the op!!! I’m worried that people will think I’m stupid for doing it especially if something goes wrong. The only people that know are my partner (he’s paying so I suppose he has to know)!, and my sister. I only told her because she was supposed to be coming with me today for my first consultation, but she let me down last minute. She was shocked/surprised when I told her what I was thinking of doing. I’ve not even told my best friend. If I could wake up tomorrow and it was all done and overwith I’d be ok, but I must admit I’m scared of the whole procedure….x

I was really worried about what people would say as well Su, but at 5 weeks post op still only my husband knows.
My best friend doesn’t even know because I knew she would be really judgemental. I just told work and my friends that we were going away on a trip.

But don’t forget that you absolutely don’t have to go ahead with it, you can postpone it for a bit until your %100. I have to say though that my life has changed SOOO since having the op. I was really negative before and I’ve got so much confidence now. Not even just in my body in my whole life, it’s given me the confidence to re train for a whole new career, motivated me so much to get fit and lose weight. Just totally turned my way of thing around to beng confident, positive and happy!!

But babe, don’t forget if its not for you or your not ready DO NOT feel pressure to do it. X x
