I didn’t drive for two weeks because I couldn’t get my car in reverse or 5th. I would see if there’s another way of getting to work if I were you. Better safe than sorry 🙂 xo

I saw the nurse at 7 days post op and she said it was fine for me to drive so I started driving the next day. I have to drive just over half an hour each way to work, I did ache a little after the first time but been ok since. Xx

My commute to work from Warrington to Manchester City centre takes about an hour each day and I was back doing that after 10 days. I had 350cc HP unders and reverse and 5th were tricky (in the sense that i felt weak) but it didn’t cause pain. I did a ‘test drive’ the night before so I knew I could drive without getting stranded! I also had to go back to ‘push/pull’ type steering but by the time I got to friday (yesterday) I was driving pretty much normally. Good luck! Don’t push it though. if it hurts then avoid!

I struggled driving at 2weeks but put a small cushion behind my back which made it a lot easier and less painful x

I drove to my 7 day post op check and it was absolutely fine.

However, 5th gear is a bit of a nightmare to get in to due to the muscle you use, and depending on your car, if your reverse is over to the right and down, that is also painful!

Basically anything which required me to pull the gearstick towards me wasn’t nice – but do-able x

I was told not to drive till I was 2 weeks as I wouldn’t be insured ! Found 5th and reverse tricky but it was ok x
