Hi girls! I’m a gym bunny and not going the gym is so depressing 🙁 I asked my nurse on my 2WPO check last week when I can go back and she said I can’t go into a gym till 6WPO! I am going to go in sooner I think but going to be careful as not exercising is getting me down 🙁 (I will only walk on a treadmill and maybe stepper I won’t do any arm exercises that will strain my top half) hope this helps xxx

It’s so frustrating I know, I run and after eating all that good after Xmas I feel like a whale and I’m desperate to run. I’m nearly 7 weeks post op now, nurse said I could go back at 6 weeks but I have a couple of scabs and she said it’s best to let them drop off first. I’m going to start spinning first – although take it very easy. The nurse said I can start running now with a good sports bra etc, but I’ve heard that it’s best not to run for 3 months and also not to work you chest muscles etc. Hope you all heal quickly so you can get in the gym, I can’t wait to go back hopefully this week x

My surgeon said I could reintroduce minimal exercise after 2 weeks so I started using the recumbent bike, stair climber and treadmill SLOWLY. But stuff like weights I would wait until you’re 6 weeks which is measuring week!!!!!!
It’s a long time but you don’t wanna damage the implants or surrounding muscles. Any dodgy strain or movement can be painful. X I was always advised to wear 2 sports bras if I wanted to go jogging but I didn’t feel confident jogging. I’d definitely wait until 6 weeks babe. X

I got the all clear to go back to the gym at 6 weeks but no upper body until 12 week. The nurse said to slowly build exercise back up but no running until 12 weeks too. I’m 13wpo and I’m back running, I’m wearing a reallt supportive sports bra and sometimes I wear my macom, it’s amazing as a sports bra!

I’m completely the same. I’m 2WPO today and was told by my Nurse when getting my strapping off that walking on the treadmill would be fine and the bike also would be ok, but to take it easy.
I was a huge gym bunny before and the christmas period definitely hasn’t helped to feeling like a complete potato, at the moment i’m just making sure I get in a walk each day and that’s helping.
It’s so hard but we just have to remember that it’s only a short term sacrifice for a longer term result 🙂 xx

Body weight moves and mainly lower body will help feeling like your doing something. My ops in 2 weeks and i work in a gym also on the reception , im also a instructor and was a personal trainer so not training for me will really kill me but hoping as im in the gym environment everyday it may help me , just listen to your body, like any exercise if it doesnt feel right stop instantly and obviously not chest exercises. If you can lift your arms with no pain and so on , get ankle/ wrist weighs and do arms circles help keep the arms in shape. Yes may seam crap and pointless but every little helps!
