Exercise/Lifestyle changes after BA Started by: Trixie

    Hey everyone,

    I was just wondering what we could and couldn’t do after a BA in terms of exercise. My PC said to take it easy for about 3-4 weeks but I could go for walks when it feels comfortable for me. Can we do yoga or something like that in this time too? I don’t want be like a xmas pudding after the festive period!!

    Also I go to the gym like 4-5 times a week and do body pump (weights) and spinning and running and I also do Tae Kwon Do, will I be able to do this after a BA, I’ve heard you’re banned from doing press ups!!

    I haven’t have my pre-op with the nurse yet, but will be soon so I will ask her all of these questions too!

    I was told I could go back to normal after 4-6 weeks! Think that is nonsense about press ups! lol. It does depend on placement of the implant. I do weight training, so heavy weights and I told my surgeon this when he decided on what implant I should have. He assures me I will be able to do everything I had done before… I think I will indirectly be working chest rather than jumping back on the bench but hopefully within the first year I will be able to… Your surgeon should be able to answer this for you though! x

    Hi ladies
    This topic is also of concern for me. I’ll want to get back to the gym asap. Ive got my first consultation Saturday but due to doing weights and heavy workouts I’m already thinking overs would be better for me based on the research I’ve done. Ive heard unders can distort when working your chest and I dont like the sound of that at all…I’d rather they looked fake fake.
    What did you have aimee88? Unders or overs and what size did you go from/to?

    Hey 🙂 I had 470 unders 5 weeks ago. I am eager to get back into the gym but I am not too sure how long I have to leave it. How long did you girls leave it for? Also how long did you leave it before doing uper body weights (not chest). xx

    I’m only 2 weeks PO! Ill probably start upper body at 6 weeks if I feel up to it but keep it light! Just listen to your body I think hun. Also maybe wait til your 6 week PO check up. Think that’s what I’ll be doing xx

    Hiya just a word of advice defo listen to ur PC. i thought i was invincible after my op i was out clubbing 2 weeks post op and now im back to bed rest. I really never sit still finding it v hard to adjust

    @Jazmydonnelly that’s definitely good advice 🙂 My PC said to keep in mind you wouldnt want to damage your new assets after everything! xx
