Hi girls only 9 days to go for me now I’m so excited! 😀 I have my admission time and all my details info etc however I havnt been given any info on fake tan I tend to use gradual tan moisturiser with the sunbeds so do I need to completely scrub it all off or shall I just stop using it from now? I’m so confused I will once take off nail varnish and nails xxxx

    Hi Georgie,

I spoke with my pc and nurse about fake tan and they said its OK to use a moisturiser one still on legs and arms just avoid stomach and chest, they also advised not to put it on my face as it may disguise if you’re loosing alot of colour in your face in surgery or just afterwards!

I would suggest to not put anymore on and let it come off gradually a bit hun x

At my pre op appointment the nurse said to stop using fake tan a week before and to make sure all traces of old tan had been removed. Xx

I was also told not to use fake tan 7 days before op, as the remains of it on your skin can cause infection when they cut you. Your skin has to be totally clean xx

Thank you girls! I think I’ll just stop using it and let it come off naturally I’ve got antibacterial wash anyway so I’ll use that all week running up so hopefully should be fine xxx
