I almost cancelled my op i was that terrified of the GA. I was literally almost having panic attacks thinking about it, i posted on here and all the girls were so reassuring, especially seeing everyone who also.posted with worries come back replying about how it really wasnt bad, i felt more and more calm about it the closer i got, and on op day the anaethetists were absolutely lovely. Kept me talking when it was time to go in to take my mind off it, he gave me a sedative before the GA and said once this is in your system, you wont care what we do to you haha and he was so right! I just felt drunk, and he asked what kind of drink i usually have and i only managed to say vodka and lem….. i was out! You really dont have much time to think about it haha it was literally 100000% easier than i ever imagined, i spent so much time worrying about it for absolutely no reason. I promise you will be absolutely fine, and i found waking up hilarious everything was amazing and funny, my mam had a right good laugh at me haha x

Hey Lisa, haven’t had my op yet but have had an op under GA before, and I promise you its absolutely nothing to worry about at all. The cannula doesn’t hurt much, just a little scratch, you feel a cold tingle up your arm, you count to about four and you’re asleep! 🙂 Don’t let such a minor thing put you off – I guarantee after its done you’ll wonder why you worried so much! xx

Lisa, I was worried about GA in case something went wrong – I’m a mum of 2. But I knew the risks were extremely low and I was fit and healthy so tried to rationalise it! Plus I was determined to have my boobs done. On the day the anesthetist was great, he really reassured me that I was in safe hands and was a text book case. All I remember about the GA is the anesthetist saying he was going to give me a cocktail and asking if I like cocktails – to which I replied yes! Then I woke up with new boobs! It really was nothing to worry about – you’ll be nervous I’m sure but contain those nerves and think about the end result – you will be fine. Xx

I haven’t had my BA yet but I have had quite a few other ops, the GA is honestly fine I used to get quite sick after but they now give you anti sickness stuff. You just drift off to sleep really quick and wake up after its all done. Try not to worry about it (easier said than done I know) but it really is ok. Xxx

The anaesthetist was so kind. I wasn’t particularly worried about the GA. Like said above you’ll feel a cold tingle up your arm and then you wake up with new boobs! I didn’t even have time to think about it to be honest. They’re all so lovely and professional. I was sick afterwards in the car on the way home lol but this doesn’t happen to everyone. I’m quite a sick person (travel sick, sick bug sick, hangover sick lol, pregnancy sick) so I was probably just unlucky. Focus on the reason for the GA not the GA itself. You’ll be fine hun. It’s natural to feel anxious but please don’t worry xx

I’m the same, I almost cancelled my op because I was so scared of GA. Honestly, it is such a breeze!

I was lying there, the nurse was making conversation with me and said you will feel a little nip (which i never and i’m petrified of needles) and a cold feeling going in your hand, i didnt even feel that and the next thing you know i was waking up – no idea where i was speaking about being drunk and how much i love my dogs hahah! TRUST ME you’ll be fine!! Good luck!! XX
