Gel Nails…. Do they really need to come off?

Got my BA tomorrow but have not taken my nails off yet! I don’t have tips just gel on top of natural nail! Do they really need to be taken off? Anyone got away with it? Xx

They did check to make sure I had no polish on xx

My nurse said they defo need to come off. Xx

Hi the reason they need to come off is so they can keep a eye on your oxygen levels and they can tell if anything goes wrong not that it will your nails change colour. As u press your nail you will see it goes white with no flow to it it’s only precaution that’s all. Don’t worry x

Lol I know it’s silly, but I’ve got really bad nails, they are terrible, look deformed thanks to glue on nails and years of biting (gross I know!) Feel so embarrassed about the state of them, I’m really nervous about going nail naked! I know the nurses will have more important things to concentrate on in my op than how awful my nails are though!

Oh boooo! Looks like its time to take the gels off then 🙁 xx
