Hi Ladies, I am planning to have my Op end of May , I like to be very organised so starting to get my shopping list together , high on my priorities will be ‘sleep aids’ as I’m not good if I don’t get good sleep , and having two under 5 year olds it can prove difficult at best of times. I don’t want to end up a wreck in the first 6 weeks!
I know I need a V pillow and have heard about ‘back rests’ , where do you get these ? not seen any and are there any other essentials post-Op that you ladies can recommend?

Also , hearing conflicting views on angles and how long raised sleep is required for?

    Many thanks Jen xx

Hi, I got an adjustable bed backrest from Argos for £22.99. It’s been fab and sleeping has been pretty good. I’ve been told to sleep at a 45 degree angle for a minimum of 2 weeks and then it’s okay to sleep flat on my back. No sleeping on my side till 4-6 weeks but it’s probably down to your nurse/surgeon to decide when exactly. I have two kids under the age of 6. I’ve been sleeping in my sons single bed alone and the kids have been in the big bed with my hubby lol x

Thanks for info Louise , going to get one. One of my main concerns are the kids, my 3 year old still likes to be carried everywhere and he is such a weight! Told hubby he needs to take a week off work which is difficult as we run our own business. Times never going to be right to get this done though so just got to get on with it ! Hope you are recovering well. Jen x

I feel quite well thanks, not in as much pain as I thought I’d be. My husband has taken a week off too. My youngest is 2 and likes to be carried a lot so it’s been hard and we’ve had a few tears. There defo is no right time, its best to just grin and bare it I guess x

Too true, I’m not looking forward to all the drama with the kids and hubby moaning but it’s high-time I did something for myself ! Having babies changes your body and mind so drastically ! xx
