My Gp is being really difficult and is against this procedure. Anyone had a similar issue? I’m so disappointed as everything was booked in. Not sure what else to do now. Any suggestions? Thanks x

I didn’t think they had any say unless it was for health reasons …. Thought their only impact was passing on the medical records? ….otherwise I’d say it’s up to you what you do with your body …. It seems odd to me …. Did he give you a valid reason as to why you shouldn’t go ahead? Xx

Your GP legally can’t refuse unless it’s for a valid medical reasons. I would contact your doctors surgery to see the exact reason why x

Hey Hun, I nearly couldn’t have mine due to a bloods issue, but I pointed out and provided documentation that I’d had the problem in the past, and that investigations were carried out and that no reason was found so the surgeon and anaethestist were happy to proceed.. I agree with charlotte, go to your GP and ask what are the reasons they are giving for you not to have the surgery.. I could tell that my GP wasn’t a believer in Breast surgery, but she still said yes, as there was no Medical reason for me not having it.. I was told the reason they contact the GP is in regards the GA. This really annoys me how some doctors like to play God, its not their decision… Don’t give up Hun. just keep fighting, Ive looked at your profile and the only reason I would say is maybe because its so soon after having a baby… but this is something you need to ask, and if that is the reason, and there are risks, what are they and why.. Good luck hun, keep us posted….xxxx

Keep going back to my gp and still no luck. She thinks it’s too soon after having a baby and as a result of this thinks it’s just a faze I’m going through. Ive waited nearly three years for this procedure and explained to her on numerous occasions just how unhappy I am with this aspect of my body. Yes Jo, Krystina has been fantastic helping me with this issue. I’m honestly not sure how to get around this problem now xxx

When are you booked to have your surgery, sounds like it ” just in her opinion” that you shouldn’t have the surgery, which I think is wrong… regardless of what ” she thinks” is there any medical reason why you can’t have the surgery… if not it should still be ok… just because she thinks its a faze, this shouldn’t stop the surgery… I’d ask for your notes so they can see that you’ve mentioned it. So sorry to hear that you’re having this trouble, its wrong.. I really hope you get it sorted. Good luck hun, keep me posted..xxxx

If it was too soon after your baby I’m sure your surgeon would also say that? After all he’s more clued up about breasts than a doctor I’m guessing? How long is it since your baby? My little girl turned a year yesterday and I’m seeing my sergeon on the 1st aug to book them. She can’t tell u yes or no babe it’s your body go for it 🙂 xxx

Change GPs. Unless there are specific medical reasons then she needs to wind her neck in 😒

I saw the letter that went to my GP and it just asked if there is any reason why I wasn’t fit for general anaesthetic. Any other reason is neither here nor there!

What’s the GPs reasoning? How old are you? Do you have any medical conditions?

I have Crohn’s disease and was very very sick last
Year, and so my specialist doctor said I wasn’t able to go ahead
With the surgery when the date came because although I was much better I was still on high doses of medication.

Which was fine – I agreed No point taking any risks!! But I rebooked for this summer and I’m now 4days post op having had a breast reaugmentation, a capsular removal and 3 areas of vaser lipo!

Hopefully you will get it sorted xx

Hi guys! I cannot thank you all enough for the supportive comments! Finally got it sorted, the surgeon finally realised that it was just her own personal opinion and that was no medical evidence to prove anything xx
