Hey everyone, I am 10 days PO and dying to get back in the gym even if it’s doing some light cardio. Does anyone know the best time to return and what excercises?

    Hi Sophie,
I am dying to go back to the gym but my advice not to do it after 10 days. My nurse said to me after 3 weeks I can start doing some light cardio, I know its freaking hard but at the moment rest is essential.

Hi! I know how you feel
I was desperate to get back too, I left it for 3 weeks, I was told by a mya nurse that after a week I could do light jogging I don’t understand why she said this though as your boobs move about everywhere even if it is a gentle jog!! :/ for the past 3 weeks I have been on spinning bike and doing lower body work squats lunges etc and I have been fine doing this, I would deffinetly say to leave it a bit longer than 10 days even though it is hard xx

    Hey ladies,

Remember the main reason for holding it off is because it can cause a lot of problems like internal bleeding. Because this happens when your heart rate or blood pressure goes high. That’s why you can’t even have sex. Be careful!!!

My client came back for session after 3 weeks and now she’s waiting on a reop.

I’m a gym freak and it’s my job but I really don’t think a reop is work it so I’m holding off 4-6weeks. It’s killing me but I’d rather that lol xx

How long are you supposed to wait till you have sex @nestereen? Haha hadn’t even thought about that part!

Well I had sex after a week and then decided to research it, that’s the only reason why I connected the dots lol

My nurse said 4-6 weeks for pretty much everything. But I’ve seen other surgeons say after 14days for sex.

I have a high pain threshold, I really could get on with doing normal things straight away. I went shopping but noticed I was getting breathless so I went back home. My nurse said this is why we tell you to take it easy plus many other factors.
I didn’t realise it was also about keeping your bloody pressure and heart rate low. So not exercising and taking it easy made more sense to me.

I’m glad I found out though because I was planning to start light workouts at 2weeks, thinking I would definitely be fine as I wouldn’t be in pain. Xx

I sat on my bike for 45mins the other day, kept it under 13km/h only light resistance- felt good to move my legs but boy did my butt hurt from the seat after!!!

Lol I have no effect from bikes what so ever. I hate cycling though I normally teach 5-10 spin classes a week. Xx

@nestereen I had no idea about the blood pressure and heart rate! I thought it was the actual movement its self and strain on that area that was the damaging factor. I’m desperate to do something and can’t because I’m waiting on op 3. As a fitness instructor is there anything you could advise?? I just feel like my middle is huge. I think it’s a combination of everything.
I’ve been off my contraceptive pill for over 2 months now because of the first and second op and all my complications.
I think this is what initially started the bloating as I’ve taken it for 10years so my body is use to the hormone. Then as I’ve had a bit of a rough time with 2 ops in 3 weeks I’ve let myself indulge more than often as I was feeling rubbish so had more treats and takeaways. Now I feel like a bloody whale!
I was thinking to try the slendertone belt, it shocks the stomach muscles into contracting to tone them. It’s the only way I can think I can safely tone that area at the moment as from what I’m told excercise is pretty much a complete no no.
Sorry to jump on the post but any advice would be appreciated. Xxx

My nurse also said don’t do anything that makes your heart bang! The first few days after the op I would get outta breath going up the stairs and the nurse said to stop half way don’t let my heart rate go even higher even if I was able to carry on and able to. Just wait for your heart rate to slow down before continuing. That’s just stairs! Xx

Thank you for your advice @nestereen I will definitely be more careful and consider all of those things. I’m recovering well after the second op I think as I’m not in pain and feel ok. I go back to the Fitzroy on Friday for further checks and I’m hoping to get the date for my next op.
I think the slendertone is the only option so I’m hoping that with some clean eating should hopefully do the job.
It’s frustrating when you feel ok and want to do things but know you can’t. I really felt I took it easy in the week after my first op. I literally did nothing and I thought I was really careful but maybe I wasn’t?!
It’s just horrible wanting to excercise and not being able to it makes you feel so sluggish ? xx

Hi Everyone I’m 3 weeks post opp and I feel brill, been back to the gym but walking 3 mile on a treadmill changing speeds and incline to how I feel comfortable. I was the same, gym freak felt so depressed and slobby not going and sitting on my arse so went on a few walks outside but by the time i’d finished work it was cold and dark so have been using the treadmill and the gym. I feel like I could jog but really don’t wanna risk it! 3 more weeks to go ha xx
