Hey. I had my hair dyed last week and since then every time I wash it huge amount seem to be falling out. I get my root tint done every two months at the same place and have never had an issue before. This was my first colour post op and I can’t help but feel they might be related. I’m so worried I am going to loose all my hair as it’s thinning at such a fast rate. Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on how to stop hair thinning..? I have read online that implants can cause hair loss :’ (

Hi hun it could be because u have had surgery and it should settle down.. ive had this problem for years i used to have really thick hair now its much thinner.. i think mine is down to hair dye alone.. my hair would come out in full strands and loads of them not like breakage.. try giving ur scalp a good exfoliation it could help and see how it goes.. theres little that can be done for it.. the other things that can cause it is stress, lack of vitamin etc .. although ur having some thinning dont worry u wont lose all ur hair hun if it doesnt improve in the comung months ur best giving hair dye a break x

Oh my God, I’m getting my roots done on Wednesday for the first time since my op. Scared! Hope it gets better for you! Maybe go and see your gp about it? Xo

Ah it is horrible but glad to know I’m not the only one! That is exactly how mine is falling out, full strands that you can’t feel breaking or coming out, they just appear in your brush…argh. I read online it could be the trauma of surgery and usually occurs a few months after (I’m 7 weeks so this is perfectly annoying timing!) how long did it usually last for you missy or does it still happen when you dye your hair now? Xxx

Yea thats exactly it hun and it certainly is most likely to be the surgery.. its scary when it first happens.. mine took 5 months to settle down.. i still have it but nowhere near as bad.. i had it before surgery as well but it peaked (at its worst) after surgery.. now its better than its ever been.. it should improve with time babe just try and look after it in the meantime x

Ah thanks missy. Reassuring to know it will stop, but 5 months just seems such a long time! I will try and wash it minimally till then and say farewell to my weekly blow outs 🙁 oh we’ll I’ll have rubbish hair but great boobs 🙂

5 months for me hun it may improve much sooner for u i was already having problems with my hair before my op so its slightly different to what ur experiencing.. dont wash ur hair any less than u usually do because that wont help ur scalp.. that said dont wash it every day either.. ur hair wont be crap hun it can cope with a bit of loss and over time it will restore itself <3 x

They say you need to eat a lot of protein after surgery to help with healing. Since your hair, nails and skin are all made of protein, if you’re not eating enough and your body is using most of it to heal you may be compensating for it with hair loss. Try going on an Atkins type diet for a few weeks while you’re still healing xx

This has been happening to me too!!!! I never linked it to my boobs. I thought it might be due to hormone changes from coming off the pill for the operation. Didn’t know implants could cause that, xxx

Thanks ladies..sound advice 🙂 I just loved my hair and although everyone is saying they can’t notice it feels so different when I touch it. At least it’s all temporary and normal albeit just a bit unlucky. Really happy with my new additions thanks missy..they are so soft already :D. I got measured last week 275/310cc anatomical sand I’m a 32D ..! Just feel as soon as my boobs were more or less back to normal a new issue started! Xxxx
