Hi girls. I’m POD6 and had constant throbbing headache for last 2 days and a feverish feeling. Last night I was beside myself, couldn’t get comfy , going hot and cold , took paracetamol as I felt I had high temperature. I’ve got mucus on my chest and a blocked nose, in a state really, I look so pale. Covers on then off all night. Feel so miserable. Anyone else felt or feeling this way? I know it’s early days but I’m starting to get over reactionary now worrying I’m rejecting the implants?! Xx

I dnt think you should be feeling so ill generally obviously it’s painful but I didn’t have a headache or anything. I would give the clinic a call Hun as u may have an infection and maybe even go and see your gp. Hope u feel better soon xx

Hey hun Yeh that defo doesn’t sound right at all! It maybe an infection combined with after effects of anesthesia and your body trying to flush out all the meds/morphine. Are ur boobs ok as in not swollen? Hot to the touch or seeping coloured fluid? Those are all indications of an infection.

Contact the nurse at Mya and also ur GP you domt sound well enough to travel anywhere tbh so see if they can send a GP round especially if u feel faint . Make sure you are taking ur meds on time and with food. Keep the windows ajar whichever room youre in to stay well ventilated with fresh air and drink lots of fluids.

Hope u get better soon and sorry to hear this.

@Fran Thanks for your message. No seepage but left boob really swollen and bruised. I’ve come round a bit this afternoon. Terrible ordeal last night. I’ve rung the clinic and I’m going over Monday. Hoping I pick up a bit before then. Is swelling in one normal ? My left breast feels so hard and swollen xx

You sound like you’ve got a chest infection Hun, very common post anaesthetic.

Can you get to your normal gp sooner? Hope you feel better soon.

I had the same (not the chesty cough) but for 2 days I felt weak, SO tired, shivery, sick, hot/cold… I woke up through the night covered in cold sweat it was horrific and I phoned nurse cause I was so scared. I slept for 16 hours (broken sleep but still) and then felt better when I woke up as I stopped taking all painkillers. I don’t know if it was that or my body recovering from anaesthetic but try not to worry – check your temp (although mine was high) and see what they say on Monday.

@ALF I packed in my meds tuesday as I was getting sickness and diarrhoea. I’ve been forced to get back on them this (ibuprofen ) as my left boob is really swollen up. That cold sweat you mentioned was just what I had last night. I got scared too as my mind started racing about bad things happening. I’m just glad we’ve got this forum cos my Hubby is getting sick of me now. Saying I’m moaning about some thing I’ve inflicted on myself. I think it all really upset me. Hope you feel better too xx

Ahh really because actually my nurse said ibuprofen might be causing it. I do think it’s the whole anaesthetic and having foreign objects in your body! Just rest and try not to worry. My friend had an infection and said you would just know if you had an infection. My boyfriend was getting fed up of me moaning as he thought I was just worrying needlessly but I still forced him to take my temperature every 30 mins haha. I’m 2 weeks post op and feel fine have done for a while now – that was the worst part of my recovery so I hope it’s the same for you !

Oh gosh babe glad to hear nothing is coming out but I would double check with the nurse about taking the ibroprofen as it may be messing about with your blood therefore some surgeons reccomend paracetamol . I’m not a Dr but a bit worried as it sounds like hematoma. Ive read a few cases on here with girls post op having it

So sorry ur going through this! Try and get lots of fluids too esp if u can’t eat solids. Did u tell the nurse about ur boob being more swollen? If the swollen boob is like a grapefruit and the other one like an orange pls take a pic and email it to ur nurse. Just keep an eye on them and ur temperature.

Thank God ur other half is there to check on u! But if u feel super light headed please get some medical assistance. Get well soon hun fxxx

@fran thanks chick. I didn’t tell nurse about swelling as it swelled up after my call to her. It’s calmed a bit now but is worrying as I have the bruising also which is connected to a bleed along with swelling. I’m going to see how it is in the morning and ring back. I know swelling it usually associated with unders but it’s usually the dominant hand side which swells (I’m right handed) and mines the left side that’s swollen. I’m just hoping it’s post op swelling. X

Ok hun just please keep an eye on it and use ice packs to bring temp down if they’re hot to the touch. I had random bruising under and around one breast that came out of nowhere and was quite prominent a few days post op. I’m sure u will be ok but if u feel funny in the night just call the emergency line there’s always someone there I found them so helpful fxx
