Honestly I’m the biggest wimp I’ve ever met, I’m going to see the surgeon next week and want an honest answer about the pain following the operation? This will s something I’ve wanted done for four years and the pain has always put me off. On top of this I have a nearly two year old wondering if anyone else has young children and how soon you can pick them up etc after? Xxx

I was the same hun, literally the biggest wimp ever! Cried the whole night before my op! The nurses are so friendly and really put you at ease! I was terrified of needles as well and they gave me gas to put me to sleep before they put the needle in! When I woke up I felt so stupid being so worried it was totally fine! I know every one has different experiences but for me the pain was totally manageable and soooo much better than i ever expected! I’m not sure about having children but I’ve seen many girls that have young children and go through with the op, honestly if it’s what you really want just go for it! 🙂 xxx

I originally went to see a consultant when I was 18 I think I just need to do it now I’ve already waited so long and know I’m not going to stop wanting it done! Thank you that’s made me feel better, I’ve been put to sleep before so that doesn’t worry me too much it’s the pain I’ll be in when I wake up that’s really worrying me! XXXX

Are you having unders or overs hun? That plays a big part in the pain level. I had unders and I needed a full-time carer for the first 3 days (my bf) as I couldn’t lift my arms or grip anything. I couldn’t even pull my pants down to go to the loo lol. But day 6 today and I can pretty much do everything for myself now – only thing I cant do is lock the front door as its really stiff. They say don’t lift anything heavier than a kettle for the first few weeks. Hope that helps. It’s not really a pain by the way, it’s more like tightness and heaviness xx
