This may sound very silly but I got the all clear to shower yesterday and I’m 9 days post op but really worried if I get the incisions wet that they may become infected? I’m probably just being paranoid an the nurse knows best but I can’t help but worry! X

Are they? See mine are doing so well and of hate to disturb them! I might try and avoid wetting them when I shower, can’t deal with them getting infected 🙁 x

I was worried about that too, it took me about 2.5 wks before I’d let them get wet! But it was fine & they’re actually healing lovely now the strips are off & I’m showering. You just need to dab them dry & they should be fine 🙂 Xx

Oh really, thanks very much! One of my incisions has a slight scab so I’ve been advised to keep that covered until it falls off! Hopefully it won’t cause me any problems xx

When I was first able to shower the nurse said I was ok to get them wet but to keep soap away from them. I said obviously that’s quite difficult what will happen if I can’t do that, and she said there would be nothing bad that can happen, I might just be uncomfortable (might sting etc) so don’t worry about getting them wet at all, just don’t soak them! I’m nearly 3 months PO and still haven’t had a proper bath xx
