If you live more than 1 hour away then you need to stay local. I am in Preston in April but staying in hospital overnight.

You can pay to be a day case and either go home if you are less than 1 hour away or stay in a hotel but I have paid extra to be an overnight case, so I am staying in hospital overnight.

I had my op in highgate hospital and live over 2 hours away. My pc advised me to stay local but i travelled back home str8 afterwards and the nurse was quite happy for me to do so aslong as i kept my stockings on for the journey home! I felt much more comfortable at home with my partner and kids xx

Laura & Jay roe! hun I’m from Nottingham aswell, were about you based? I had my op on 22nd Feb at Preston also. I was a daycase and travelled home after :/ I was absolutely fine!!
They tell you to be an hour away incase there’s sudden bleeding and you need to go back. I told the pre op nurse I was staying in a hotel and told the staff at Preston just before I left I was going home they didn’t seem to happy about it but said it was my choice xx

Im from Stockton. It says on google maps its 2hours 8 mins. I am dropping kids off with childminder about 7am I will be driving to preston in hire car so hope to get to preston at 9am and hopefully be at hospital at 9.30am. But the later my admission time the better then I won’t have to set off so early.

I read in terms and conditions bits that if you go home then you are breaking the terms and conditions. Won’t be too bad staying in at least I will get some peace but will be waiting around for my mum and step dad to pick me up next day hopefully theyl be there by 11am.

It’s the risk you take isn’t it chick, I felt absolutely fine the staff at Preston were quite shocked how well I came round from the general I was ready to go like an hour after lol! I was pretty confident nothing was going to happen so I took the risk and went home & it payed of!
Its worth staying in for the peace and quite tho like you say the staff are amazing there!!
    Good luck xx

I had my operation at Preston and stayed at the Ibis hotel which a few people had recommended it was great, so close by exactly what you paid for which wasn’t much. If looking into booking a hotel i totally recommend that one girls 🙂 xx

I live half an hour away from Preston and had mine yesterday. The car journey home I could feel every bump! I did and still do have quite a bit of pain in my right boob the nurses had to give me tramadol cos the co-codamol wasn’t touching it xx. Personally from my experience I would see how u are cos u don’t kno what ur pain will be like when u get brought round. If u feel ok then maybe drive home. If not book into the hotel. I’m sure there will be space or a laterooms place somewhere if u googled it xx

I went for my consultation on 22nd February I think. I know I waited 33 days ha! It came round quick. No we can’t drive I meant you chaperone drive. I think it’s best to do what time say esp if it violates the t&cs. I’m so glad I had them done. Just can’t wait for them to settle and my right boob to stop being itchy and painful lol xx
