How long for wearing sports bra ? Been to 6 week check been told until 8 weeks!

I’ve just been for my 6 week check thinking I will get measured and stuff well I didn’t and was told it’s 8 weeks for a sports bra when I’ve always been told 6 ??!!

Has anybody else waited til 8 weeks ?

I waited till 8 weeks. But to be honest 14 months post op I wear it 24/7 abd wired bras more at weekend. You will find wired bras agony to wear at first they take a lot of getting used to again x

You can wear under wired bras from 6 weeks! I’m nearly 3 months post op and I still wear mine to work, bed and round the house! I only wear bras when I go somewhere, feels weird without it ?? they’re still changing after 6 weeks xx

I had my 6 weeks check last week then went to debhanems to get measured straight after. Was measures at 32ff! I’ve been wearing a normal bra ever since with no pain at all x

Thanks for the replies girls ! I had just always been told 6 weeks by my other nurse so was confused today when a different one told me 8 weeks and I thought I would be getting measured so was disappointed !

My scars where still pretty sore at 6 weeks so that’s why I was advised to wait they generally say 6 weeks but everyone heals differently. Mr kazzazi gave me a care sheet which states that wearing sports bra makes sure you get a good life out of your implants as wire wear on implants causing them to not last you as long. I like to wear my sports bra as much as poss and have one that doesn’t look out of place with my work clothes. Everyone is totally different but as someone who has breast fed 3 children I have crap skin so if I don’t support mine they will be swinging by knees before I know it x

I want to get the most outta my implants too. But I must say in a sports bra with clothes on I probably look exactly the same as I did before in a padded push up bra which sort of makes me sad lol. I got them done for half the reason clothes would look good but if I wear a sports bra in clothes they don’t look any better really :/ how long will it be until I can wear push up padded bras comfortably (ruffly)? I will wear sports bras through the night and soon as I’m home xx

Yeah I completely understand that, I know we really have to look after them to get the most out of them but I know what you mean Ellie . I just want to be able to put on a nice bra now I have healed but I am going to avoid wire bras where I can .

I feel the same with the sports bra I don’t look any different because they just squish you down don’t they ! I am going to get measured today at debenhams or m and s but I could still change in size with it being only 6 weeks so may only buy a couple of bras for now .

After spending so long not being able to fill a bra I can’t wait to put one on and have something to go inside it haha !
