    Hi girls,

So I came out of surgery a few hours ago and I’m currently booked in for an overnight stay. Everything is fine and I’m not in pain at all, but I keep sliding down from my pillows! I have my bed at a 45 degree angle and I have loads of pillows propping me up but I still keep sliding down, I literally feel like a blob fish. Problem is I keep getting told off for pushing myself back up because I keep using my arms by habit, oops! How did you girls get yourself back up to a 45 degree angle????

I understand this sounds so stupid but I’m finding myself having the strangest problems post op hahah!

I would sit upright and then cross my legs and then shuffle myself up using my legs, similar movement to trying to stand up from a crossed leg position – not sure if that makes any sense at all?! Not sure how else to describe it.

Hi Imogen! That’s really helpful, next time I flop back down I’ll try that! I’m worried I’m straining my muscles too much and could cause damage, but fingers crossed I’m ok x

I put a pillow under my knees and it stopped me sliding and was comfy. I also got a back rest from Argos for £20 and used that with v pillows and was fab! X

I had two pillows on top of each other then had my v pillow resting on them/upright by slightly slanted so it’s comfier and then stuffed the gap in the middle of the v pillow with something soft and then put a pillow upright between the sides of the v pillow (basically the middle of the v) so it supports your back and neck and put a pillow under my bum ???? Hope this all makes sense haha, to get up I had to have someone help me for a good week and now I just bring my legs up and wrap my hands around them and use my lower body to bring me up xxx

Hi girls! Thanks for the advice, I’m better now I’m at home, although I’m having problems breathing when I’m sat at a 45 degree angle! It’s probably because my frame is so tiny and it just feels so compressed! Fingers crossed everything settles down, thank you girls xx
