My excitement running up to my op has gone! I’ve been post op bra shopping etc getting my bag packed being as my op is 2 days away! But now I feel awful and it’s all because of Birmingham clinic I don’t know what’s gone on but weeks ago I had a call to tel me it’s hard for them to get in touch with my gp (didn’t ask me to get in touch with them myself nothing!) just told me they will keep trying. Anyway they decide to tell me 5 days before my op to get down to my doctor to get a letter of him?! And faxed back to them I did it on Friday and watched the doctor for my own eyes fax it back! , till yesterday I had a call to say it’s not worked by Birmingham clinic?? im so annoyed with the fact I’ve been told till the very last min which isn’t my fault?!!! And isn’t fair! Now it’s been taken to head office to see what they say, which when I rang up yesterday to chase it up the lady on the phone said head office haven’t got back to her so might be ok? I’m so worried I can’t be having this op post poned or cancelled I will be livid !! i have no medical health problems nothing! So I’m hoping it’s ok. Otherwise tomorrow I’m gonna have to go my doctors and run the letter up to Mya by hand myself this is such a headache! ???

Oh hun, this is stress you certainly do not need right before op day. I can understand why you feel let down. Why the hell do they need a letter from your GP anyway? Did they explain why? X

@bassett28 it’s awful! I was looking forward to it until now, no they didn’t explain why they needed a letter of my gp apprently they just have to ask for one? Cos Mya Birmingham one of the ladies had sent a fax to them and now they want a letter of my doctor and signed? I don’t understand.
My doctor even said to me before he confirmed my medical history was ok and signed the letter to be sent off through fax, he said his never heard of it before, as its my choice to want the op not his? And it should be down to my surgeon and the nurse I’m really confused hope it doesn’t get cancelled I’ll be so angry! X

that’s strange that they would want a GP letter when you have no medical history that even has any relevance to your op :/ i made sure it was the first thing i sorted before it was asked for by my surgeon but i had a mixed medical history with numerous hospital visits and medications over the past few years. it’s unnecessary stress on you especially as your op is so close! fingers crossed for you that everything goes okay over the next few days hun xx

It’s very strange I have absolutely nothing wrong with me, most I’ve ever been the doctors for in my whole life is a few colds they wouldn’t see anything on my medical history what so ever to even say I couldn’t have my op done! I just don’t understand why they are doing this last very minuet to me ?
Thank you Helen I’m just hoping it gets sorted an I can still go ahead with it X @helenelizabethxx

Very strange – get on the phone first thing tomorrow and demand confirmation of your op. It all sounds very unnecessary and unorganised of them to be putting u through this. The bottom line is this is by no fault of your own and with no medical history issues I’d want confirmation of why the letter is required at all. Really hope u get this sorted hun. Let us know. Xx

I can believe this! A week before my op I text my PC to check I’d been given the all clear by my GP to go ahead with the surgery. She told me they hadn’t had anything back fro my GP so I should chase him up myself. So I contacted my GP and he hadn’t even heard/had anything from MYA! So I had to sort it out myself as well. It’s so bad, it’s worrying to think what might have happened if I hadn’t text my PC! Xx

@kirsty2512 how awful, it’s bad really as you would think for all we have to do to get our new boobs and spending half the time worrying with what’s going on they leave things like this till very last min. Considering I had a call few weeks ago aswell telling me they hadn’t heard of my GP I don’t understand why then the lady on the phone didn’t tell me to chase it up rather than now? It’s ridiculous I’ve been so excited waiting for the day to finally come now I’ve lost that feeling of excitement just isn’t fair. First thing I’m doing tomorrow is going my GP and taking the letter up to Birmingham clinic myself x
