Im two weeks post op today. At my 1 week check my left boob was fine & nurse took dressing off. My right boob still not 100% so she said leave dressing on for couple more days. Took that off now & all well. On Saturday I noticed a little spot of blood from my left boob ( one that had healed) so put a dressing on it…went to change it today and its weeping quite a lot. Think I will need to see the nurse just to check it out. I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues and if so how long did it take for your incisions to completely heal? Only a little setback but still not happy 🙁 xx

go to see the nurse, but for now don’t get it wet, go see your doctor as well if that’s easier to get to then travelling all the way to see the nurse! sometimes incisions can take 6 weeks to heel don’t worry though! is it weeping a lil? as it is normal for some spots of blood and for it to weep a little is fine remember you have been sliced open x x x

Had quite a lot of weeping overnight so rang MYA this am and left a message. Nurse rang me back after half an hour and got me in to clinic this afternoon…very impressed with aftercare so far. Had 4 calls from nurse and my P.C checking on me post op and they were lovely with me today. Said my incision has opened ever so slightly, probably because Ive been overding it stretching/carrying etc. Redressed it and made appointment for next week to check on it. Made sure I had all the contact telephone numbers incase I had any other problems or concerns. All in all, a slight set back ( want to see my boobies without any plasters on!) but at least no sign of infection or anything serious and its nice to feel that MYA were there for me as I know some girls have had issues with poor aftercare. xx

Glad you’ve got it sorted – and to hear how good the aftercare is if I ever need it (which hopefully I won’t!) have you gone back to work?! Do you think that’s how you’ve over done it?? x

the same thing happened to me my 1 week post op i had healed all fine then i noticed my left one a few days later had opened slightly and i was so upset and scared, but i just went back to my clinic and she just put iodine and dressing over it, i couldnt shower properly still which annoyed me but then i got waterproof dressings which were better! i kept back every 3 days i think it was to have my dressing changed but after about 3 weeks it had finally healed properly and it just healed by itself with no infection, just make sure you keep it covered up well! so annoying isnt it, but you will be fine, some just take longer then others 🙂 x

my incisions opened up about a month post op, my surgeon just stitched it back up in the clinic, no anaesthetic tho so quite painful, I had a few small little holes that opened up, just put steri strips over them and they heal within the week x
