Infected?

When my strapping was taken off it tore my skin off, the nurse said you’ve got a skin tear go to chemist get some cream or something or use Vaseline, and put my Macom on, I got home and went to shower and the Macom was actually stick to my skin so i had to peal it off! I then put more Vaseline on and it tore again the next day, I have used germaline today and put a anticeptic pad on and then cotton sports bra and Iv took the pad off and there is yellow on the pad. Iv shown my mom and she said it’s not infected it’s just trying to form a scab. But I’m really worried 🙁 does anyone know if it is ok

Have you taken pics? Can you email them into your nurse? An did she say shed give you extra antibiotics just in case? Xxxx

Hmmm she should know if it’s infected or not then but keep putting the antiseptic stuff and new dressing on it till it starts healing it’s hard cause skin needs to scab over really doesnt it an these bras leave like no breathe room. Mine has got like a rash on it now from the band thing seeing the nurse sat so ask her what’s going on there too it’s so hard not to panic at like everything when they tell you all these symptoms! Xxx

I know, thing is it’s annoying because it’s nothing to do with my scars or implant it’s just my skin is grazed 🙁 it’s so annoying it needs to breath but I can’t take the bra off 🙁 Iv emailed the nurse now xx

The nurse said its not infected an it will just take a while to heal xx

Ahh at least that’s good news so glad I didn’t have the strapping my sisters skin was in bits from it and the stickiness took forever to get off bless. Hopefully will just heal up nice and quick for you just keep an eye on it xxx

Are you OK Jessica.? Do u live near the clinic I would still get checked out just incase. I sent pics in of my incisions to mya nurse and I was told today at walk in centre that it is infected. It’s probably best doing by person then picture hun just to be on safe side. Hope u feel better soon xxxx

Hi Lindsey yeah I’m ok now was abit panicky! My mom said it’s ok and it was trying to scab over which is why it was yellowey colour but cause I have this bra on it won’t scab straight away. I just saw your post, youl be back to normal in no time!:)!! My skin tear is only a graze as if I have carpet burn but I am such a worrier anyway.

@jessicakeyx hi , I m the same my , when I came home after strapping off and saw , my skin tore from so many place . I do have a big blister , when nurse was taking my strapping it tore and whipped. Nurse coverd the blister with anticipated pad. When I try to take out my maccom bra , noticed is sticky all over.

I am now soo scared… Taking my strapping off tomorrow morning…

Hi Riya don’t worry just keep it clean, nurse said carry on using germaline and antiseptic pads. Laura it doesn’t really hurt but it just takes some skin off for people it seems. Good luck xxxx

Happend to me 2 on my 1st ba in 2007..everytime nurse took strapping off skin got caught with it…it was yellowish and sticky… Nurse advised me to let air get to it so it could heal properly… Never did, i was left with a slight scar . hope it heals soon it will take a bit of time.
