I’m booked in to see dr Kazzazi tonight then my ba op is March 13th, I’m a smoker and a bit concerned as I’ve heard it can slow down recovery etc if you don’t stop. I can quit but I don’t really want to, is there anyone who continued to smoke?

If quitting is the best option I will probably quit, boobies over cigarettes anyday!!! Thanks girls x

I think some girls on here continued to smoke.

I had been smoking since 16 only 10 a day an had tried to quit but it just never worked. Personally I quit exactly 2 weeks before my op n two weeks after and iv actually quit smoking, apart from having amazing boobs now I’m also a non smoker 3 months later…. If you want to quit it may be the push you need 🙂 good luck x

Hi, i have my op on the 31st this month and i am also a smoker, ive been told to stop next week however stopped two days ago so on the day of the op im not craving or moody.
it does slow recovery down so much, ive had a rhinoplasty and the recovery was a joke also had my son 2 years ago c-section and the scar is still there due to my smoking even though i only smoke 4 a day. if i were you i woud stop as soon as, give your body a proper detox its been two days i havent had a cig, its hard but its easier than you think.

Some surgeons will also test you for nicotine apparently and refuse to operate on you if you fail. Not sure if that’s a scare tactic or not mind.

Thank you girlies! I think I’m gonna just quit! My op is March 13th so I’m hoping to be smoke free by end of Feb, or sooner if I can! I could of done with a fag before I go into surgery but I’ll have to find something else to calm my nerves haha. Xx

I heard a story of a lady who ignored Dr Kat’s advice (INSPIRE) continued to smoke and drink heavily and had to go weekly post-op because she wasn’t healing. It’s just not worth your health……try and quit x
