To any ladies out there asking themselves are maComs worth the money, shall I bother im only wearing it for six weeks.. are they really all they are cracked up to be? Answer is YESS!

Ive washed my maCom this afternoon for the second time since my op 8days ago and I cant wait to get it out, dry and back on again! Before my op I brought 3 M&S zip up ones to try get the right size, Asda ones and another set from M&S and its safe to say I took all three M&S zip up ones back because I found them a poor fit, dreadfully uncomfortable, very tight but yet felt unsupported. The other M&S ones along with the Asda ones are ok, itchy, pretty uncomfortable and not as supportive as the maComs.
Im in the Asda one and its by no means as nice as my maCom.
So ladies anybody out there thinking shall I buy a maCom, definitely! The material is comfortable, wash really well, exceptionally supportive, its mainly seam free (no silly lines down your boobs wheres its stitched together) so is fairly invisible under clothes and just all in all worth every penny! When we’ve spent soo much on our new assets why not treat them to the best bra!

P.s quick update, im now 8days post op with 325 extra high profile unders, hoping to shower in the next couple of days normally as there is still two little patches on my nipple incisions that haven’t fully healed. My swelling has pretty much all gone and im starting to get boob greed. They’ve softened nicely, so when does this “dropping and fluffing” tend to start I want the size back!!

Hey Hun did you just get one macom? I’m having my
Op in 2 weeks and 6 days (not counting honest!) and don’t know what to do??? I am thinking cause I’ve spent so much they should heal in comfort so would u suggest a macom and then like a cheapy one for when the macom is in the wash?? And what size macom do you get? I don’t get it at all haha!! X

    Menu

Hiya Hun, oohhh how exciting! I was exactly the same! 😛
Buying two… urmm to be honest the asda and M&S ones do the job and im sure anybody could put up with it for a few hours (some ladies only use the asda ones for the full six weeks and are fine) all the money I spent on buying all different it probably amounts to near enough two macoms, I did consider buying another but then Its thought actually as a student myself is it really worth it I can get by with this asda one for a few hours. Although two macoms would certainly be more ideal! Ebay is also an option they are cheaper on there if you can get your size ;second hand of course but as I said they wash and seem to stay fab! Maybe you could buy two and sell them on after, or maybe if you’re abit of a gym/sporty person you would benefit from them long term! I wont be selling my macom on as I think its a good investment if you wanted to continue wearing it at night 6weeks post op or for me practical for work and after swimming ; im a lifeguard/swimming teacher!

Size wise ; I went with the size up; im normally a 32 so a 34… in macom terms that’s a medium. I found even now my swelling has gone the bra is that compressed that I can get away with wearing it on the tightest hooks and tightening the straps a little more, I still feel 100% comfortable and supported. They are super stretchy and like a suck in material if that makes any sense so you don’t need to worry about the cup size… I too was a little dubious about this, but it fit me pre op and fits fab post op too!
Sorry to go on abit there hun just food for thought! 😛 xxx

Lol they only go in back sizes Hannah so you don’t need to worry about cup 🙂 good luck for your op too hun xx

Hi Danielle. Do you mind if I add you? I completely agree macom bras are the best. I was the same, purchased a few sports bras from m&s and took them back as they felt like they squashed my boobs whereas the macom leaves them in their correct place if you know what I mean! A great investment! Xx

Looks like we’re already friends Emma!:p
    They are fab!:D x

Thanks a lot it’s always helpful and reassuring when u hear other views! Will try an type that code in for a cheeky discount as well! Is it my breast for the 10%? Xx

    Menu

I totally agree! Its worth spending that bit more!
No im pretty sure its 15% when you type into the promotional code box ‘my breast’ its either 10 or 15% but as Jenny said it kinda pays for your P&P xx

    Menu

I’m usually a 34 band so I purchased a medium and large. To be honest I only used the large the first week as my nurse put it on over my strapping. After week 1 I wore the medium. Personally I wish I had got 2 mediums! Xx

I know some people didn’t have a bra over there strapping it depends on what nurse you get. Therefore unless you want to buy two I would just get the size you will be wearing once the strapping is off xx

    Menu

Thankyou you have save me some money x

    Menu

Not to rain on your parade here Debbie some surgeonsthat yse tape strapping still like pu to wear your sports bra on top and those qho dont mind thats ok. But ypur strapping will be removed before about 10 day so pu will need a bra for after that anyway! Even with your strapping a macom will stretc over and compress to any size as long as the backsize fots comfortably you will be fine! I advise going a size up with the macom as i stayed further up! cx

    Menu

That sounds like a better idea especially as your swelling will be gone mainly by the time your tape comes off and its not like a cheap one will rub or annoy you if you’re all taped up! Definitely sounds like a good idea babe! Im aloud to shower for the first time tonight ladies, im so excited!:D xx

I’m not sure but if you can send them back but if you can get two then you can send the larger size back if you don’t need it. Like I said I’m a 34 and was fine with the medium. The large was quite big round the band even over the strapping. I couldn’t send it back as the nurse put me in it and ended up staying on all week until the strapping came off. I had deodorant marks on it so just kept it. You are quite welcome to have my large if you want it. It’s clean I literally wore it for 7 days. I will never wear it. Let me know and I can put it in the post for you xx

Tink this is whats difficult, everybody is soo different, i have found the meduim to be ok, maybe ive still got some swelling or ive got fat during my recovery!:D haha! Thonk we just have to accpet hese sports bras are a nightmare and are going to cost us money and be wasted whatever way we do it! Oh well our boobies are worth it!:D xxx

I agree that the macom is great, very comfy on incisions. However I will say that since about 10 days po I wear the zip up m+s for when I’m out walking anywhere, I find it more supportive/tighter so stops them bouncing, which causes me less pain. I wear the macom probably 22 hours a day, and could only wear this at first as anything else hurt my incisions. I will also say they are generously sized, I’ve bought a 32 back since my op, as the 34 was too big (I was 34 pre op). If anyone’s interested I’m looking to sell the 34. In perfect condition as only worn for a week! Message if interested 🙂

Thanks for this feed ladies very helpful. Hope you don’t mind if I add a few of u. Need all the advice I can get

    Menu

I find the M&S zip up gave no support at all! Its definitely trial and error as to what is suitable for yourself!

Not a problem Reevere, if you have any questions feel free to ask ill do my best to answer! 😀 xxx

You have talked me in to ordering one, I just can’t de IDE on 34 or 36 as I was a 34 post op but my surgeon has told me I must be a size bigger now to protect the whole implant as I’m quite broad breasted if that makes sense. So not sure whether to order M or L, what do u think?

    Menu

How far post op are you hun? 🙂 Do you still have much swelling, maComs are a full cup supporter, they are fab so if you haven’t got much swelling anymore id go with your normal back size I only went with the size up because I knew Id have loads of swelling I have a one side reduction and uplift, now its a little loose but put on the tightest cup and tightened the straps I can still get away with feeling supported enough. xx

    Menu

Or alternatively im pretty sure you could order both and try both on and send the other back ? xx
