Mastopexy and tubular breast help & any pics? Started by: Casey

I was all ready to get booked in to have my BA next month but after having the surgeon consult and pre-op today I was told I DO actually have partially tubular breasts and therefore need the mastopexy procedure where they remove part of the skin around the nipple to make it tighter (and do something on the inside of the breast) but this increases the price to £6750 which I just can’t afford So now it looks like I won’t be able to have anything done at all… I’m absolutely devastated to say the least?

If I was able to get the money together has anybody had this type of mastopexy? I wasn’t prepared at all and just got upset as soon as additional surgery was mentioned, I didn’t think I’d need to have the scarring around the nipple. Photos I’ve seen on the internet don’t look as nice as I would expect to look after surgery?

I’d love to see pics of tubular breast mastopexy surgeries if anybody would be willing to share!

    Hi Casey,
Sorry to hear that you’ve had to delay your op.
I had tubular breasts and needed a nipple lift on one of my nipples because of this. I’m 10 weeks post op and the scaring on my nipple has healed quite nicely so far and is barely visible. I have posted a few post op pics in the thread titled BREAST ENLARGEMENT FOR TUBULAR BREASTS. But I can post some here too and a close up one of my nipple so you can see my scarring, if that would be helpful? x x

Thanks for replying Jacqueline! I have literally just seen your pics on that other post, they look much more full and round now they’ve settled but I see you’re still not 100% happy?

A close up would be great if you wouldn’t mind. I’ve been advised today it’s 6 weeks for the nipple to heal and up to 18 months for the pinkness to go, I just feel so different about the procedure now as its not simply an implant going in! But yours look nice and round which is what I really want x

Thanks, I’m much more happier with them now they are rounding out 🙂 I weight train so I have really strong and tight chest muscles which were compressing my implants, causing it to take longer for them to drop and fluff. To be honest, I think I’m being too much of a perfectionist, as they are a huge improvement to what I started with and as they fluff out I’d liking them more 🙂 One thing I’m very pleased with is how well my scars have healed 🙂 I’ve attached a few close up photos. My scars are barely visible and I don’t feel hard or noticeable either. Apart from a tiny bump at the bottom where I accidentally knocked my scab off early, which bio oil is smoothing out nicely 🙂 I know how you feel as I wasn’t keen on having a nipple uplift because I was worried about how bad the scarring would be but mine have healed so nicely 🙂 x x

I also weight train so that’s handy to know thank you! The scarring is really minimal then looks fab on you! All the photos I’ve seen have been really big and pink, even in MYAs photo catalogue thingy so it really put me off But you’ve made me feel better thank you! Guess I just have to look atone for cheaper now, gutted as I had my heart set on getting it done beginning of next month to allow healing to begin! Thank you for help putting my mind at rest!!

Glad I’ve helped with putting your mind at rest 🙂 Are you having unders or overs? Did your surgeon say what type of stitching they would use with your nipples? My surgeon used surgical glue and really fine stitches, as he said that this method would provide the least visible scarring. My stitches were that small I couldn’t even see them and that nurse who removed them had to use a giant magnifying glass to see and remove them, they were that small. I’m not a Mya patient and I paid alot less for my op, so it may be worth contacting a few other companies x x

The surgeon suggested overs, type of stitches wasn’t mentioned, that sounds good though little stitches! I’m going to look around but all in my area are around the same price so I might have to give up ?x

Overs have a faster recovery time as they are over your chest muscles, so your chest muscles won’t be compressing them and you can get back to weight training again sooner 🙂 Have you considered applying for finance through Mya or putting the extra amount required for the nipple lift on a credit card? Or asking for a second opinion about needing the nipple uplift? x x

Oh yeah duh? I could only afford the £4995 for the BA as I was doing finance and credit card so £5500 was the maximum I could afford as I’m going travelling! I didn’t necessarily want huge boobs I just wanted round ones so I think most surgeons will say I need the mastopexy in order to change the shape? Surgeon said I could just have the implants but that would mean I have the same shape breasts, just larger in size ?Xx
