Hello Hun I have a two year old and I had to have child care for first two days when I got her back I couldn’t pick her up for about a week I’m 12 days post op now and can pick her up with only little pain. If you haven’t got child care I would wait till there a little older? Xx

Hi. I think you will definately need help for 2 weeks, for the younger one if anything. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and he was easy, he is in a bed, can climb in/out car seat with supervision is potty trained and understood I was sore so was more careful. But my younger one was 11months and whilst she was walking, I couldn’t have lifted her in/out cot, highchair, cuddles etc. I had help for just under 2 weeks and even after I could fill the strain on any lifting, driving and changing nappies!! And she didn’t understand when I looked scared as she came charging towards me!
It is hard, and at times very guilt ridden but I think u have thought it through well and your plan sounds like a good and doable one!

Hi Alice, I’m in the same position as u, I have 6 month old twins and have booked my surgery for 20 Dec when my hubby is off work for 2 weeks to do everything! I still feel so guilty and wonder if I’m doing the right thing but it seems everyone heals differently and u just don’t know how u will b! I’m hoping I will b ok… Just taking the plunge and deal with it at the time! Cxx

Hey my little one was 3 and half months when I had my op. I had help for the first three days then after that was doing everything as normal, lifting etc. I was really worried beforehand too as my partner couldn’t take any time off whatsoever, but all was ok for me xx

Hi @Alice. I’m 6 weeks post op and am a single parent of a 20 month old. I was reading so much on this forum and was actually petrified about the recovery and if I was being selfish etc but I can honestly say (I may of just been lucky) but after day 2 and after I stopped taking coedine I was perfectly fine. My mum was off for a week but unfortunately got a sickness bug a few days in so I had to manage. I just needed her to lift him in/out of his cot and obviously I wasn’t driving so that was fine. I could do everything else though. Lifting a full kettle was the other hard thing. I had overs so I may of been fortunate! Any questions please ask me 🙂 xx

Hi, I had my boobs done 8 weeks ago and I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old. My fiancé had 5 days off, I didn’t lift a finger at all for those first 5 days and then went to my nans for a few days just for help lifting my son. By day 10 I was absolutely fine, lifting my son and he’s a chunk and managing my toddler as well. I could have done it all myself sooner but I have anxiety and didn’t want to make it worse by doing to much and then worrying I’d hurt myself.
I may have been lucky but it really wasn’t as bad as I’d imagined. Good luck, you’ll be fine xx
