Just uploaded my pre and post op pics ladies, I had Assymetrical tuberous breasts… Only about 3 people had ever seen them so to be able to finally say I’m rid of them and show people what they were like without feeling ashamed of what they are now is such a massive stepping stone for me and I feel so relieved!!
Obviously not sure of the full outcome yet and they feel and look smaller than what I thought they’d be but anything is an improvement on what I had!!!

So here is my story…just because all of yours helped me so much 🙂

I set off for hospital at 7am (admission time of 9am) and was heading over to Preston First Trust…I only live about 50 minutes away so that isn’t too bad! My two best friends came with me for moral support and a lot of giggles! We arrived at 8am as the traffic want bad at all and it’s really easy to find… It’s next to a kennel and chattery so cue the jokes about taking me there instead!

On initial impression it looks like a huge house, although very nice, and ample free parking which is always a bonus!! I went to reception and was shown to the day room, they had no problems my friends coming too. A nurse then came to collect me at about 8.20 to show me my room, letting me know I was 4th on the list. Over the next half an hour she did the usual checks, vital signs, nameband and pre-op checklist. She let me know that usually after a GA they can discharge you after 3 hours, I’d been told all the way through my consultations I was staying overnight as I was having a mastopexy but as I don’t live too far and I’m a midwife…the nurse said she thought my surgeon would be happy for me to go home…which I very much wanted to do…despite paying extra…I love my bed!

After she left, at about 9am, the consultant anaesthetist came in for a quick chat and asked routine questions, had I had ops before etc! Which I haven’t, again went through my medical background but nothing to report! A different doctor then came in to listen to my chest and heart and then the nurse again to have me confirm I wasn’t pregnant (just asked when my last period was and you have to sign to say you don’t think it’s a possibility…no actual test). She gave me a rough time of 11.30am to be going down which I was more then happy with!

From about 9am – 11am I was in my room (which was lovely) having giggles with my girls and watching Kevin and Perry Goes Large and reading magazines. The girls were able to go and get themselves a cup of tea and coffee and chocolate (cows…I was starving!) from reception. I got my lovely hospital gown, a dressing gown provided, TED stockings and sexy paper knickers so got changed!

At about 11am the WONDERFUL Mr Traynor came in to complete my consent form, discuss sizes, answer my questions and draw on me…then said it wouldn’t be long! At about 11.15am the anaesthetic nurse came in and took me to the anaesthetic room, hooked me up to the monitors ready and confirmed all my checklist again! The anaesthetist came in, sited the cannula (completely painless!) and popped the oxygen mask over my face… Then kindly decided to tell me he didn’t like midwives as he was putting me to sleep (freaked me out at that point haha!) but was being very lovely and entertaining about it 😀 told me I’d drift off to sleep and boy did I! Next thing I know….and it felt like seconds… It was 2pm and I was back in my room shaking like mad and on the phone to my dad with the words “dad…I’m not dead” coming out of my mouth!

I have no recollection of the half hour I was in Recovery for, my first memory is a good half an hour or hour after in my room, don’t remember being wheeled into my room either!! After that it was about an hour of on and off sleeping. The nurse then fetched me some coffee and toast which woke me up, was STARVING. And had demolished two bags of Cola Bottles (very healthy haha!). I then decided I wanted to get up so had my two friends help me up (I was in NO pain whatsoever, just a tight chest)…and went to the loo, fixed my hair, put my contact lenses back in and put my PJ bottoms. The nurse came in to find me up and about…so she said I could definitely go home! She helped me pop my sports bra on and told me I could leave in half an hour. Also gave me an anti-emetic I’d requested as I was feeling slightly nauseous (hadn’t been sick though).

At about 4.30pm she came in to tell me I could go home. Gave me my take home medications (Co-Codamol 30/500s and Co-Amoxiclav), gave me the standard post op advice and sent me on my merry way! Was slightly nauseous and tired on the way home but soon perked up and was never sick. My friends dropped me off at home, I then got into bed and I’m still not in pain, haven’t had any analgesia yet at all so I might have some soon just to keep on top of it incase! I have vomited since being home (sorry if that’s TMI!!) but felt loads better after wards, just had some tea and I’ll be ready for a massive sleep soon! My eyes keep drooping!

So that’s it girls, I’m all done! Dressings off in a week! Pics are uploaded. I had 520/560cc Overs (I’m 5ft 9″ and a size 12) with a modified mastopexy. I feel fab…and if anyone has any questions then ask away!! Sorry it’s such a long post!! Wol update my pictures regularly!
Thank you girls for all your stories and pictures, they helped so much 🙂 I had such a great time!! Xxxxx
