Hi Everyone ! My bum is in agony !!!!!

I am seriously needing some tips and advise on how you all prop yourselves up during the laying on back phase !

(I am one week post op… Had strapping off, all ok except incisions not quite dry yet…. So have fresh plasters on them for an extra week … Also right boob a little swollen still…. )

So…. On my back propped up for another week at least ….

I put a firm square cushion against my headboard…
Then a pillow each side of it on a slant making a ‘A’ shape…

Then another 2 normal pillows horizonal over it….

Then i put my v. Pillow around my hips and push back into my pillow arrangement so i am almost ‘100% sat up’ then as i lean back i am on the perfect incline …

    But!!!!
omg !! Wake up after about 2-3 hrs every night with a painful base of my spine /tailbone ( whatever its called !)
    And its so uncomfortable….
So cant get back to sleep !

Try and shift and tilt my pelvis to shift the main ‘pressure point’ but end up too flat to take the pressure off of it !

Helllllp ! Tips and sleeping tricks much needed ! Xxxx

Hey hun its such a pain isnt it, i find the only way to ease the pain is to go to sleep with a hotwater bottle at the bottom of my back lol wake up a little less stiff at least! Good luck hun i think we just need to grin and bare it ? xx

I had my op yesterday I don’t have a V pillow just a large square one, two normal that I place on top of each other and a small rectangle shaped one that I place in the small of my back and they seems to ease the pressure, but annoying as this is the only time I’m uncomfortable no pain with my actually boobs 🙁

Awww thanks for the tips…. Yep…. We just have to power though it don’t we…
So is your pain more back then?
Because my back seems be ok…. Its just that pressure point that seems to take all the burden at the top of my bum / very base of spine 🙁

@lucy-2 I had this at the beginning!! I slept with 2 pillows and a V pillow at my back and then one pillow tucked under my knees but my bum was in agony!! So I ended up sitting on the pillow that’s under my knees! It still stops me from slipping but doesn’t give me the sore bum any more lmao xx

Thanks @XX..A..XX basically its all about the extra padding then rather than a slightly different tilt of the ol’ pelvis….
I’ll be booking in for bum implants at this rate….. Feel like i am gonna end up with a flat little boney bum !
Will try extra pillow under bum tonight then .. Thanks again everyone xx

I’m sleeping on my right hand side now already, I’m 4 weeks post op, but I’d say to keep a pillow under your knees if you can, that should help. Also make sure your not too far up right as that will put strain on your. You just want the pillows like a slope 🙂 xx

You find its lot easier than v pillows u can bend the one around your neck so you can rest your arms on it

@lucy-2 how do yours look without the strapping.. are you happy with them?
It was my first night home last night and I spent all night rearranging pillows and this morning have a heat pad on the bottom of my back which is taking all the pain away but was soo stiff when I woke up and I don’t know if my boobs feel normal they feel rock hard..?
Hot water bottle will prob help your back loads 🙂

I purchased a bed wedge and I am so glad I did. It stops you slipping down the bed. I woke this morning in the same position i went to sleep in. I prop the thin end slightly under my bum for softness and rest my legs over the higher side. That’s an image from Ebay. You can turn them whichever way is more comfortable.
