Finally putting my story up at 9 days post op!! sorry its took so long just haven’t got round to it until now.

So I woke up at 5.15am on 01/05/12 after about 4hours sleep(I was too excited too sleep! Ha ha). Had a little drink of water as my admission time was 7.30am. I had a shower got myself dressed and made sure I had everything ready for hospital. I then waited with my boyfriend for my mum too pick me up at 6.30am he was upset that he wasn’t coming with me and started to worry about me (bless him).

7:05am Me and my mum arrived at the Highfield hospital, checked in and the lovely lady on the desk asked me to fill out a form then asked me too take a seat. I then met janey88 off the forum just before going to my room.

7:15am The porter, David shouted my name, He was really nice and offered to carry my bags for me and then shown me to my room – room 15. He shown me around my room and how too use everything and said the caterer will come in to me soon too order my food for later.

7:30am Nebilla (think that was her name) the caterer came in with some menus, I couldn’t choose because I didn’t know what I would feel like after my op ha ha and the nurse came while I was trying too choose so I felt under pressure so I copied my mum she ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and a cup of tea, so I ordered the same but I got a starter melon platter and a dessert lemon sorbet too! Mum asked for some water, Nebilla said she would bring her a jug.

7:40am Natalie the nurse asked me a few medical history questions, took my blood pressure, pulse and weighted me. Then went off to get the tape measure for my stockings. I got changed into my gown and at 8am Natalie came back in and had guessed I was a size small and was right, she said Mr Traynor would be down soon too draw on me and im 1st or 2nd down! I put my stockings on(with a struggle) and then relaxed on my bed with my mum watching TV

8:20am Dr Shetti the Anaesthetist came in (I was confused as I was expecting Traynor too walk in and was worried the wrong surgeon came ha ha) he asked me some questions, reassured me about the canula (because I was scared) and said he would put numbing cream on so I don’t feel it (read on about this part!!)

8:35am We wondered where the cater was with the jug of water (1hour later). So I said press the caterer button!… Mum pressed the nurse button instead!! Then again trying to turn it off!!! Ha ha. Then pressed the caterer one as well! We was both panicking and I wanted to hide in case everyone came running in ha ha.

Luckily a lovely lady called Gaynor came in (caterer manager) and said they was all stood looking at the buzzers thinking what the hell are they doing?! Ha. She chatted too us for a while and then went to get the water for mum (as long as I don’t have any she said lol). I also ordered a Green Tea for later

9am Lovely Mr Traynor came in and I got all nervous and shy ha. He asked me to sign a form to confirm my implants and drew on me then chatted to us a little. I asked if he knew if I was 1st or 2nd and He answered “ one or the other “ as he walked out the room!! Ha ha funny man.

10am The time was going so fast!! One of the theatre nurses came to get me Wendy I think her name was, I was in the en suite and mum was on my bed she thought mum was the patient ha, she asked me all the same questions as the other nurse did then said ok lets go! This is when I started to get the nerves properly I kept laughing to myself (I laugh when I am nervous) Lol. Mum started worrying when id gone too.

I got to theatre and the nurse put me on the heart rate monitor my heart rate kept going really high when I thought about the anesthetic cause I was getting nervous the nurse was nice she was talking to me and telling me to relax. (this it my first ever op)

Dr shetti came in to do my canola and I asked am I having the numbing cream? He said no you don’t need it you’ll be okay. After promising me it!!! this upset me.

But it wasn’t the pain I was bothered about it just went through me having a tube in my hand!

Anyway so 10.10am I started falling asleep and started crying at the same time because I new there was no turning back and got a bit scared the nurse stroked my head and reassured me as I fell asleep!

11.10am I woke up in recovery room, I was chatting so much rubbish ha ha. I remember dreaming and telling the nurse she woke me up from my dream. And then when I realized I had boobs I kept trying too look and the nurse told me stop flashing at everyone in the recovery room!! Ha ha (embarrassing!!) I kept trying to sit up as well!

A woman and man called Bernie and Paul took me back to my room I got back at 11.25am I was so confused because they had moved my bed around so they could get the other bed in. I thought I was in the wrong room! I must have fell asleep as soon as i swapped beds because I don’t remember them moving my bed back. But I remember being freezing when I got back so the nurse put the heating on and put loads of blankets on me.

11:45am I then woke up boiling hot!! I was chatting and wouldn’t shut up lol I rang my boyfriend and told him all about it

12pm The Nurse came in and put my call buttons in my reach as it was high up on the wall! I had no pain or anything at this point but was confused when I realised the drip was going in me as I didn’t even know! Lol

12:40 I fell asleep when the nurse came in to give me an anti sickness injection. Mum says I started chatting rubbish then realized and started smiling ha ha.

1:30pm I woke up and sat up for a bit talking to mum about god knows what about I wouldn’t shut up!! (bet I was annoying).

2pm I asked for my dinner which was nice, took me ages too eat it though!

2.10pm a nurse came and gave me my post op medication and mum tidied my bed and made me comfortable I just relaxed then and watched TV sat up while my mum was asleep on my bed !! Lol

The Nurse came in again around 3.30pm and helped me go to the toilet she went through some forms, then helped me get dressed into my pjs and discharged me about 3.50pm. I felt sick walking out so she wheeled me too the car. And off we went home.

I got home around 4.30pm to some lovely flowers off my boyfriend and a lovely clean apartment!

Sorry for the very long story!

I had a great day and the hospital staff at Highfield were lovely and I cant thank them enough they looked after me very well! (I didn’t want to go home!!!) ha ha

Mr Traynor is amazing and I would recommend him 100% he’s given me exactly what I asked for and I love my new boobs! Also thank you too all the girls on here who helped me before my op with any questions I had the forum has been very helpful pre op and post op too!

hey thanks for sharing your story, I have a date for surgery with Mr T at Highfield in August and you have really put me at ease.I havent seen any pics of his work, do you have any pics that you would be willing to share?
