Newcastle to Preston travel on op day

Has anyone travelled from the newcastle area to the Preston hospital on the day of their op? Just wondering if the drive is alright in the morning with it being 2-3 hours away or if it would be better getting a hotel. Not sure what the traffic would be like!

I’m not too sure if you know already but just thought I would let you know just incase you didn’t know, but MYA don’t like you travelling more than an hour from hospital after your surgery, so you might need to get a hotel for afterwards either way xx
The best way to find out about traffic is, if you go on Google maps and put in from your destination to prestons first Trust, it will show you the estimated time with usual traffic for that time of day. So say you had to leave at 7am on the day of your surgery, Google at 7am like tomorrow or something and it will show you how long it will take in traffic – if you get me? Lol xx

My opp is Wednesday and I’m traveling to Preston on Tuesday night from Newcastle and staying over at the ibis hotel which is 10 mins away from the hospital for 2 nights xxx
