Its because sun beds/tanning make the skin more sensitive which is then stretched and tight post op, I think… Might increase stretch mark chances? x

Same for 6-12 months after. And that if the incisions get tanned they stay dark and then don’t fade like the rest of the tan making them remain really obvious. Sorry for double post, I knew the reasons for after for sure but not for before 🙂 xxx

Its so the medical team can monitor you during surgery. If something goes wrong they can tell how well you are by your skin tone/complexion. Obvs if you have a fake tan you’re covering up your natural colour. Its a risk you shouldn’t really take. x

I didn’t realise it was six months afterwards! 🙁
im abit of a sunbed queen, hate being pale and I cant stand fake tan! 🙁 ohh gosh!
what if you brought UV blockers for your scars and maybe something to cover your boobies??
I mean you can go abroad after six weeks and have a bikini on so how come I cant use the sunbed?xxx

Sun beds are more concentrated UV rays so they are a lot worse than just being on holiday!! Its six weeks thou not months! 🙂 xx

Weeks thank goodness for that, I don’t mind waiting that long, suppose once im given the all clear from my surgeon and he is happy with my scars then that’s fine! 😀 I don’t think ill care how tanned I am for a few weeks and then I wont have long left to wait! My op is 10th August im so excited but it feels ages away yet! 🙁 xxx
