Just a quick question …. my op is a week today. My friend is coming with me to drive me home after. Just wondering what do they do ? Do you have your own room ? Where do they wait ? X

Good question I need to know too! I’m bringing my sister and I feel bad as she will just be sat there all day, especially if you get a late admission time!

I think they can stay with you in the room up until you are taken to theatre. Then they have to wait in reception. (Not allowed in the room on their own). But it will only be for about 45 mins/1hour whilst you are having surgery. Then they can come back in when you are awake. X

Yes, my mum came with me. You get your own room which has a tele (Preston I was at) so they can stay in there with you. Then when you get taken down they can sit in the day room. When your back the nurse will get them and they can stay with you. However they are not allowed to sit on your bed and my mum said he chairs aren’t comfy lol!xx
