Only 1 implant in, other taken out 6 days post op.

Hey hun, on my first BA my implant came through my skin caused by some infection and so i had it removed, the surgeon chose to remove both implants in case same happened with the other and i wanted this too as didn’t want one implant in and one out, did they not give you a choice to have both removed? I was told if i had only one removed they would give me an implant to place in my bra to even them out, have you been offered that? Sorry to hear what’s happened! x

Hi I had my opp on Tuesday 12 OCTOBER 10, All went well in theatre, and went home the day after. By Thursday i was in so much pain in my right side, it had swollen up so much it felt like it was going to burst. I went to see my surgeon, he told me to put ice on it and gave me stronger pain killers. By Saturday I could’nt stand it any longer, still swollen but my skin was bright red and felt hot to touch, so i went to Leeds clinic. I saw a lady there, she give me some antibiotics and booked me in to see my surgeon for Monday but i had to travel to Preston to see him (I live in Leeds).

I layed on the bed in his room, he took 1 look at it and i need to open the wound, so he give me some anesthetic and started to take the stitches out. with the 1st one out the wound started to pour a creamy coloured puss, as ecah stitch came out more and more puss came with it, about a pint in total. it was disgusting, he said the only way to make sure all of it came out and to clean it out was to remove the implant. I could of waited and had an opp to remove it but i said just do it now. I watched as he removed the implant, then he squirted shringes of anti septic solution into the whole area under my skin to wash it all out. I wasnt stitched back up beacuse it had to be left open for any more puss to drain away. He washed the implant and gave to me so I can wear it in my bra, but its too painfull over the wound at the mo. I have to shower 2-3 times a day using hibiscrub to clean it, and put a pad in my bra to catch the leakage.

I can now start to let the wound heel as it is 2weeks since it was removed and there is no signs of infection left. It has to be air tight and water tight before the inplant can go back in which can take upto 6 weeks. Am just hopeing that it is back in and heeled for christmas because i dont want all this hastle again at christmas.

The swelling on my left side has gone down now, but the size of it is smaller then i wanted. i wish he had removed the left aswel. I could of asked for bigger inplants putting back in then.

Do you think it would be cheeky of me if I askeed him to replace both with a bigger size ? comments please.

Hi donna omg it must have been awful for u poor u.

If ur not happy with the size then why not ask i would. Just say the whole experience has been so awful and to now come out of it smaller than expected would be devastating.

Maybe ask if u pay for the new implants would they do it.

Hi carrie, I was a very small 32B and i had 410cc implants under the muscle. Think i am about a small D cup now. I did want to be a good DD. I took the surgeons advice on what size implant to have although I did say i wanted to be a DD. Maybe I should of had 2 sizes bigger ?

Donna i think thats so awful what u had to go through, not only with the pain and the worry before u went back to see ur surgeon, but with what u went through when he removed ur stitches and took out ur implant while u were still awake, it must have been the last thing u expected to happen and such a shock!!,,,u go ahead and ask for the bigger implants honey, its definately not cheeky and think its the least they can do for you…good luck with it all babe xXx

hi donna 410 should take u to dd may be when they settle u might find u go up to a dd this somtimes happens with unders but ur not happy with the size so ask for bigger hun maybe 550? i had 550 from a very very small 34b and it made me a 34f so should make u an e but its different for everyone.

call ur pc and tell her ur worries its not fair that after all of this u still wont be happy.

OMG!!!! you poor girl this is horrible! how has this happend do MYA have a duty of care to make sure infection does not Ocour cos it sounds really nasty which hospital did you go to hunni and which surgeon? i meet my surgeon today in Leeds this has totaly put me off i think you should most defenitly ask for new implants its not cheeky at all i would be so angry! im upset reading your story hope your ok hunni xxxx

Hi Emilou, I had it done in Manchester but through Leeds clinic. Please dont let my unfortunate experience put you off. I am told that this is a very rare happening. I am very angry but mostly upset and disappointed. I do try to put a face on when i see people but its on a night when am in bed i cant help thinking about it, many nights i have cryed myself 2 sleep. just cant wait 4 it all 2 be over !!

I am very squeemish and reading your story has made me cup my little boobies and prey this doesnt happen to me when I have mine done.

The body reacts to things in many different ways doesnt it!?

omg donna, you poor thing, so sorry to hear what happened to you hunni. Really hope that you recover very quickly, and they are able to put the other implant back in. Def worth asking about a bigger size, if you feel you want to go bigger, but i guess they could say you have to pay extra for any bigger ones? Keep us updated hunni, take care xx

Hi girls its been a while but on 8 march 11, i finaly got my boobs redone. I went for 525cc and well pleased with them. Fingers crossed nowt happens to these ones, its been 5 months now, its wierd having two boobs lmao xx

Good luck! You will probably be ff cup.. Even a g cup. Since u had it under the muscle, they fluff after post op.. My friend was a very small a and had 525cc over a year ago in dec 09 with overs and now she is a 32f/ff.

Sorry you had an unfortunate experience but at least things are turning around x

Eee my god, Donna, this brought tears to my eyes because of the pain you must have gone through and then tears to my eyes again to see your update, that you’ve finally got your boobs and all seems well.
