op date changed??

so i payed the balance of my BA op yesterday, and today i recieved a call from MYA , lovely lady called holly i think,, saying that my date booked for the 29th october couldnt be done at preston hospital bcoz they couldnt facilitate it that day, and there for had to be moved until the next day. its not a big deal, and one day isnt a big difference to me, but its just made me wonder why.. has anyone else had this? i just cant have it keep moving dates , which she reassured me it wouldnt, as iv arranged time off work and travel etc. but left me a bit wondering weather its something to worry about??? xxxx

I also had a phone call today saying that Preston couldn’t accommodate me on the 9th October and that I would have to reschedule to the 8th … I was a bit shell shocked on the phone. I genuinely don’t think I can arrange to get an extra day off work. And it’s not just me – my mum has already arranged to take the day off work to take me to and back from the hospital on the 9th so she will have to try and reschedule too. I know it’s probably something out of their hands but I’m gutted 🙁 x

Mines booked for the 8th and I’ll be very upset if they change it!!! They probably do it so they get as many girls in on one day as possible and save the surgeon attending on another day just for a couple of ops ( I work in a hospital so know this happens). Seeing as its private and we are paying a lot of money this really shouldnt happen. Dont they realise all the planning that goes in to it at our end? Hope you girlies manage to sort out work etc. xx

aw laura i hope your mum manages to rearrange and you can get it off work. if they change it again i’ll let you know and visa versa if thats ok?
just hope it doesnt bcoz im psyching myself up for that day now..

and thanks girls, it was just a bit coincidental that it was the day after i paid the balance for my op. maybe thats why they require it so many days before, maybe thats when they confirm the date with hospital.. and like TGH321 said, there not gonna tell me the complete ins and outs suppose.! xx

I know aprile … I think that’s the worst bit. I only booked about 3 weeks ago but I’ve been constantly thinking ‘ooh this time in four weeks, this time in three weeks’ proper psyching myself up you know! I’m going to be so upset if I can’t get it sorted. And yeah of course I’ll let you know if it changes again!
TGH321 it is like they don’t appreciate the effort involved to try and be discrete about it at work. It’s not like I can go in and tell my boss that the date has changed for my BA! I’d be mortified (I know he’ll probably realise one day … But I’d prefer it if he didn’t have to!) and I feel like I’ve already messed them around enough as the date changed from the 10th to the 9th originally!
Are you in preston on the 8th?! With Traynor?! If I get it sorted we’ll be on the same day if you are! xx

Hi girls my BA was originally booked for 3rd September and the called me 4 days before cancelling it and re booking it for 7th sept! Apparently the theatre I was booked in was under going maintenance work! Was extremely annoyed as I has to re book time off work aswell as my boyfriend and changing the hotel date! It’s all don’t now and I’m really happy but at the time I was fuming! X

Same happened to me girls got moved forward one day which meant I had to rearrange travel and hotel. I thought I would have to pay an extra night but the hotel was fantastic when I explained the situation and let me swap with no penalty. I know mya will help cover costs if u do have to pay out though as they paid my best friends train fair when hers was rescheduled. I missed my nephews first birthday I was gutted having to lie to people about why I was missing it. I also panicked and thought it was a sign I shouldn’t go ahead but I am sooooooo glad I did x
