Post op ladies what happens on the actual day? After arrival? I want to know what expect in terms of what time I could go down, where partner can wait, pain Etc.

Hi girls I had mine on Saturday, my admission time was 7.30am. You have your own room so my mom and husband stayed there I also had a tv. The nurse fits you with some beautiful socks takes your temperature blood pressure rfc, the surgeon comes in and marks you up and the anesthetist asks lots of questions. I went down for my op about half 9 was back about half 10/quarter to 11 spent the rest of the day recovering. Had my drains out about 5 then went home about half 6. You have to stop eating and drinking from 12pm night before. Hope this helps xxx

Good luck hun! NO food 6 hours before, that includes milk in tea/coffee,mints, chewing gum ect, you can drink water up to 2 hours before.

When you get there you’ll be asked to fill a short form, will be taken to your room, a nurse will do height, weight, pregnancy test, temp, bp. You’ll be given socks, surgery gown and nice paper pants :p

The Dr will come for a chat, have you sign some forms, take a few pics, mark you and the anaesthetist will come in for a chat explain what’s going on and you’ll be taken down for your op, typically it will take 1-2 hours, you can epxect to stay in most of the day, the nurse, your Dr and the pharmasist will all come and see you explain the meds ect and you’ll be all done! x

They really know how to make you feel sexy – the gown, paper pants and beautiful stockings! :p

I went for 7 and the nurse came and did my obs, then the anaesthetist came and spoke to me, then the surgeon came. The nurse came to collect me to go down about 10ish and I was back at 12. My partner stayed in my room while I went down. When I got back I was having regular obs from the nurse/hca and then the surgeon and the anaesthetist came to see me afterwards as well. I had a few probs post op so got quite a few visits from nurses and the surgeon.

I had unders and my chest felt so right when I woke up it was horrible – but just try to relax and it will be better. I don’t think it helped that I didn’t have any idea what was going on when I was waking up! Good luck and let us know how you get on 🙂 xx
