Over 2 Weeks PO and still have undissolved stitches hanging out incisions

Ill try to attach some photos, I’m over two weeks PO and after a week I was told it was fine for me to shower etc. by my nurse, but i still have undissolved stitches hanging out at the ends of my incisions and some redness around them. They aren’t sore and feel fine I’m just worried that they should be gone by now and don’t want to end up with an infection! Has anyone experienced the same?

Hiya hun,

Mine took about 11 weeks to go!! It’s where the stitch is knotted, it will probably scab over then fall off with the scab since their healed ️xx

It looks like you have knots left. I had dissolved stitches but still been told to come back 1 week post op to get them removed… anyway they should “get dry” and fall off soon

@doti1986 ah yeah they probably are the knots left! On my one week post op appointment she said my incisions were fine but didn’t mention the stitches/knots that are left. Hope they fall off soon worries me seeing them in case they end up infected especially seeing as its quite red around them already 🙁 Thank you xx

I’m nearly 2 months post op and i still have stitches in the corner, can take upto 3 months to clear up xx
