I’ve got my surgeon consultation soon, and its all I can think about! My pc said I may get a choice of overs/unders due to what tissue I already have. What are the pros and cons of each? Obviously if surgeon says to go with one I trust him, but just wondered what experiences of either were like! X x

I have to have unders due to suffering with random best lumps, so it should be easier for those dreaded scans. I have also read that it can help to keep the implant in place and it can give a more natural appearance. X

I was able to pick aswell. In the end I went with unders simply because there is less risks. If you google it you will see them, the main one that stood out is mammograms are easier when implants are under the muscle. Taking care of my long term health was a no brainier for me x

32B so I already had breast tissue which is why I could of had overs. To be fair the surgeon did say to me that breast feeding shouldn’t be affected with any placement, over the muscle there’s a higher risk for capsular contraction and under the muscle there’s a higher risk for double of bubble. So they are about the same really when it comes to look at risks. He did say with overs if they were concerned when doing a mammogram they could do more in depth scans so there’s always a way round it I guess. I had 375cc high profile with mr traynor, I think his under the muscle are partials though so kind of in between overs and fully under x

Hey @Lauren. Congrats on the first stages of your op. I had overs nearly 3 weeks ago. When I had my consultation my surgeon said overs straight away after I told him the look I was going for. There is risks with any surgery but unders is slightly more evasive as your cutting the muscle to put the implant in, that’s why unders take longer to heal and is apparently more painful although the first week was awful for me so think it just depends from person to person how your recovery is going to be. Just tell your surgeon exactly the look your after and he will advise you on what placement would suit the look you want best. Trust your surgeon Hun they do this day in day out and know what they’re talking about. Good luck with it all x
