    Hi ladies,

I had my op yesterday with dr traynor at first trust, I can’t fault my experience at all and will write a patient story when I’m feeling up to it.

But the pain is becoming seriously unbearable. I was only given paracetamol and ibuprofen as pain relief and it doesn’t seem to be touching the pain. I have quite a high pain tolerance but I’m on the brink of crying. I feel like I’m just taking sugar tablets because the paracetamol and ibuprofen aren’t having an effect whatsoever.

Is there any way I could get something stronger because I don’t know how I’m going to cope with this

Sorry to hear that Charlotte. I hope you feel better soon. Just get some strong pain relief and that should do it. On the bright side, I am now 8 days post op and feel virtually pain free today and I had unders. Every day is so much better so there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Xxx

    Hi Charlotte,
I found that taking one of each, paracetamol and ibuprofen, every two hours is better to cope with the pain rather than waiting for the four hours in between each set. It seems to keep on top of the pain .
Have you tried ice packs? That helped me a lot with the hot swelling.
I’m now day 3 and feel load better, try to move about a bit as well, I’m finding the longer I sit the harder it is to get up.

    Hi Charlotte,
    Sorry to hear you’re suffering.
It’s far more painful than I was expecting too!
I was told to go to the doctor and ask for tramadol (spelling?!) if the paracetamol wasn’t helping.
I was given muscle relaxers too (I had unders) and they make a massive difference!
Maybe go to your doctors and ask for something stronger?
Hopefully it will ease for you soon.
    Xxx
